Rose ACT Scandal revisited on Titus & Tate podcast
Not sure if any of you listen to Titus & Tate
They used to do One Shining Podcast for Ringer but now are at FOX sports
They just put up a podcast this week-
Revisiting the Derrick Rose SAT Scandal, Keith Van Horn vs Under Armour, and more NBA Bubble News Titus & Tate
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/revisiting-derrick-rose-sat-scandal-keith-van-horn/id1485321758?i=1000485613633
They discuss it for @ 10 minutes.
Talk about how World Wide Wes was involved in the scandal, how he took it in Detroit for some odd reason and then they dropped a real interesting tidbit-
Eric Gordon and D Rose to U of I was a PACKAGE DEAL
If Derrick had the grades he was going to IL with Eric Gordon.
Gordon had to bail and took an offer from IU when Rose failed these tests

Weird times.
Rose cheated on his ACT.
Trump on his SAT's
One is a journeyman NBA player now. The other runs the country.

I heard that rumor, but I always thought it was a rumor. I don't get why Eric bailed on Illinois though. They would've been great with him still. Rose and Gordon though? That would've been spectacular.

I just found it most interesting World Wide Wes was involved.
That's LeBrons buddy
If Rose was connected to him in 2008-
It's too bad a relationship never developed with Derrick and the Banana Boat crew.
Would have thought Rose would appreciate Wes and his humble beginnings too and teamed right up with that agency and crew.
Instead he went his own way, let his brother do his negotiating.

I also remember the same rumor, as a UIUC alum, makes me sad. Those two would have given them a real shot at winning the NCAA tourney or at the very least a deep run.

Those two on the same U of I would have been the biggest thing to happen to college basketball in the state since the Deron Williams, Dee Brown, Luther Head team.
til 2018 of course. Ramble on

100%. Can't be mad about the utter hypocrisy of the NCAA being gamed.

it bothered me a bit only because it flew in the face of his squeaky clean image, which was later irrevocably tarnished anyway
so how is it that he was able to play for memphis but not U of I?
i assume that gordon was only going to play at U of I because it was derrick's first choice, but wasn't willing to follow him down to memphis
the donald, always unpopular, did worse in EVERY state in 2020. and by a greater margin in red states! 50 independently-run elections, none of them rigged

I'm not really sure. U of I has tough academic standards for non athletes which they obviously bend, but maybe only so far?

Re: Rose ACT Scandal revisited on Titus & Tate podcast
Rose did nothing wrong considering how America is built. It's a meaningless test. Also, screw the NCAA.
