At 6'3" and 165 lb on a small frame, Lewis will have trouble defending at the NBA level. He can be lightning in a bottle though.

Looking at the article it feels like Ish 2.0. How much you value this largely depends on how good you think other prospects are.
Do we know if he is done growing yet? (I think he's still 18). I think he goes much higher if he is 3 inches taller.

Ish is 5’10/5’11 and kira is nothing like ish. More like deaaron fox on offense.

Still if Detroit gets a top 5 pick im still saying no to kira lewis but If Detroit ends up trading to get into the 11-15 range i would highly consider.

Both are very frail players that have troubles defending against bigger players. Both are lightning quick and use that quickness to get to the hoop. Just looking at the video of Kira posted it actually reminded me a lot of Ish's game. He's just a bit taller -- new and improved. So I think the labelling of Ish 2.0 is actually pretty appropriate.

I still want to trade Luke to Phoenix for 10 and of all the players that might be available Kira isn't high on that list.

Speed is great but if we're taking a PG I don't see him being the BPA at that spot.

He does fit the OKC mold though. Time will tell if that's Weaver's MO or it was more other people.

What's the logic in thinking that Phoenix would trade the #10 pick for Luke?

They were in roughly the same spot in the standings when the original trade talks transpired, and those involved Phoenix's 2020 first-round pick. Talks ultimately fell apart over the protections the Suns were seeking. If Phoenix doesn't jump in the lottery and maintains interest in Kennard, perhaps that deal could still be made.

Considering jeff bower is PHX SVP theres a chance luke is still wanted by Phoenix. They drafted cam johnson cause bower was recruiting him when he was the coach at Marist so he values past relationships and i hope hes still as inept as he was here

Not seeing that much value around the 10 spot...why give up on Luke? Believe that original deal included Jevon Carter...does that really move the needle?

Let's give Luke another year to see if his knees are okay before giving up on him.

So if they turn out to be not ok...that's a better situation than trading him for a first rounder now? I like Luke but it's not like he was showing signs of being capable of becoming a top 10 player in the league or something. He was just the best prospect THIS team had before he started having the knee issues.

Because he does not fit the timeline of a rebuild and there's no reason to pay him right now. Better to get some potentially high-upside youngster instead.

The Pistons are not repeat NOT trying to win next season. It's year one of a rebuild; get used to that idea.

So I'd much rather flip him at the All star break for a pick in 2021 than now. He hasn't shown to be fully healthy so his value now is low. And this draft is weak.

I think there's plenty of guys who may be available at 10 that have huge potential.

Dealing Luke now resets the rookie contract and timeline.

A Lotto pick in any draft is a nice asset for a dude that hasn't exactly set the league on fire and hasn't been able to stay healthy despite us not running him into the ground

We don't know whether the extended time Luke was out was just conservatively shutting him down to fully heal during a down season or a chronic case. He will have much higher value if he can play well and stay on the court.

I'd trade him for a lottery pick this year if anyone was willing, maybe even a top 20 pick. Those knees may come back to haunt us sooner rather than later and a winning team is a couple years away.

Nobody is giving up a lottery pick for Luke. We might be able to get a late first rounder. Maybe. He's got to show he is healthy to get any real value back for him. Even then, he wouldn't bring back a 2021 lotto pick.

The Suns were willing to give up a protected lottery pick for Luke at the deadline, so I find your certainty on this issue to be a tad puzzling. From all outward indications, he would most likely be on Phoenix's roster now but for the protections the Suns were asking.

His value is what it is, and will plummet if his knees give him trouble for the fourth time in four seasons. He also has more value right now than he would at the deadline, as he has an entire year left on his contract; he's on a low salary for the upcoming season, will provide a full season's worth of value, and will provide an extended period in which his team can gauge his value and, if applicable, attempt to extend him before he hits free agency.

It's unlikely that anyone will be giving up a lottery pick or comparable asset for Luke at the deadline, no matter the situation, in part because he could end up a rental and in part because anyone inclined to trade for him will probably not have either one to give.

There's no reason to keep him.

The reason they want to get rid of them are because of his contract situation, not that people believe he is a bust or anything, just that he most likely won't be any sort of star. Might want a redo on a player that will fit more of the timeline of when the Pistons can be competitive. My personal thought is that he still can improve and Casey hasn't helped much with his development.

Yeah, I never understood this, either. I'd be surprised if any team gives even a first round pick for Kennard.
