That’s pretty bad basketball to play for a dress rehearsal, considering the amount of practices that the team had. Yikes.

Points off turnovers been the story so far. We giving them way too many easy ones. Our communication on defense also giving them open 3's.

Difference in this game to me is that MEM has a clear identity and imperative centered on Ja/Jonas PnR bullyball and working off that, whereas we just kinda freelance it on every possession

Jeez we're getting dragged right now.

This Grizz team has so much energy!

This is hard to watch. Good thing it's only a scrimmage.

If we *have* to get our asses beat, let it be in a scrimmage and not during a seeding game.

We gotta do better, though.

Ja is so damn impressive.

Heat point of attack D continues to be a huge issue.

It's a scrimmage, so no need to put too much stock in it.

But between the regular season and this scrimmage, it seems the Grizz are pretty much perfectly constructed to exploit our weaknesses. Everything they do well makes us uncomfortable.

We're a better team against more teams than the Griz are, but they matchup perfectly against it. I might even parallel it to how we match up with the Bucks (except the Bucks are damn damn good).

The good news is it doesn't matter unless we meet them in the finals (lol)

EDIT: Some other thoughts:

- Bam looked tired often and was rarely aggressive. It'll take him some regulation games to get back into the shape he needs to be in. I'm confident he'll get there for the playoffs.

- JJJ is extremely talented and has all the tools. But, I'm starting to think he's brainless. If I was playing Memphis in a playoff series, I'd target JJJ decisionmaking on every play. He's also always pouting.

- We're almost certainly locked into a first round 4-5 matchup. I think we should make it a point of using the regulation games to work out kinks and get guys comfortable doing what we need from them, even if it's at the expense of some of the games.

From watching this season, I'd say it's the main culprit for our defensive mediocrity (struggles). It all breaks down once the perimeter players gets leverage on their defender.

Why do we continue to play with no bigs? It absolutely murders the team defense. Big teams like Memphis will continue to destroy us. Spo with the same crap

Val has been classy and not bad by Crowder either. retaliated tastefully. and both just just working not squalking. nice sequence both both guys in terms of toughness.

This team needs an anchor down low on defense. We have zero shot blocking.

Memphis is one of the worst matchups for us in the league IMO

But, I also dont think Spo is coaching this game to win. He's coaching to get guys reps in certain scenarios he wants to see, evaluate, work on
