Stop worrying about taking a L in a scrimmage meant to get guys back in playing form.

But, something I don't think you've addressed yet, that I'd like to get your take on:

what do you think of our big man rotation?

It’s not about the scrimmage. It’s about Spo’s tendencies to fall in love with these small hopeless lineups. He was doing this sort of crap during the regular season.

Our big man rotation consist of Bam and a couple of centers who can stretch. Add Crowder and DJJ into that mix at the 4. We need a bigger more defensive body who can rebound and block shots.

I'll give the requisite "only a scrimmage" acknowledgment but I'd be lying if I said our play doesn't remind exactly of how we looked limping to the season suspension. The same fundamental flaws to our scheme/personnel remain regardless of whether this game counts to our record

Kelly looked good and I liked that we found him down low when he was on a smaller player, we need more of that in the future. My only hope is that they are saving the power inside game for when the season starts. Crowder, Bam, Olynyk, Jimmy and even Iggy should be able to provide a post presence. Tyler has been way off most of these scrimmage games and Nunn is working his way back. Would have loved to see some KZ that is one of more puzzling moves, we need everyone ready as covid can flag anyone.

If the team is exactly the same as it was before the season stopped, there needs to be serious reconsideration of Spo as coach. I’m not knocking the guy yet, but 4 months of planning and a month of practice and we see Crowder at C? When is Crowder at C ever a good idea? Might as well play Iguodala at PF and the Hobbit at SF. No that’s not a derogatory name I have assigned a player. I mean the actual Hobbit cuz that’s where were headed with this small ball bs.

4 months off. Unbelievable.

I'd relax a little. It was a scrimmage and we were out of sync mostly because Spo is testing out new things and looking at different rotations. Crowder was only playing center at the end when the game was truly out of reach.

Also your Spo hate is a little misdirected. How's Spo supposed to know if new things will work if they aren't playing anyone. Also he's not doing extra scouting on Memphis for a scrimmage game like we would for a playoff series. A month of practice with guys doesn't mean anything. Teams aren't going to be well oiled machines just because they practice together. That's why it usually takes half a season for teams to really get rolling.

I just hope Nunn and Herro aren't hitting the sophomore slump. Their shooting has been sub par. Herro in particular looks as if he's thinking too much before shooting the ball. Nunn looks more like he hasn't got his legs yet.

Calling for Spo's job before we even play a game that counts--amazing!

I highly doubt if we are going to make structural changes we won't do it for a scrimmage.

Jimmy 22 minutes, Bam 25 min. We good guys

I am not a fan of Spo's coaching during games. But at this point it's a total exaggeration to be criticizing a coach during scrimmages that are design to experiment and try different things. The real games begin on Saturday.

Remember Vladimir Stepania? Reid called him “The Catapult”. Not sure where it came from, but all of Reid’s nicknames are meant with good vibes.

It was the final game of the preseason before
a short 8 game regular season. The time for experimenting is over. Time to get things locked in.

If Spo starts doing nonsensical chit like playing Crowder at the 5, I'm gonna smash my TV.

We have perfectly viable options...Bam, Meyers, KO...chit, even Silva in small spurts when he has 'it' (or yank him after a couple minutes if it's clear he's gone full JoEL mode). Absolutely no reason to do things like DJJ or Jae at the 5. None.

Gonna be interesting to see who is in and out of form during this whole thing. Can't rely on the 'tried and true' rotations, Spo is gonna have to get creative...and being creative on the fly has never been his strong suit (OK I'll pay playing Bosh at the 5).

Would probably prefer to run with:

Butler / Dragic
Herro / Nunn
Robinson / Crowder / Igoudala
Adebayo / Jones Jr
Leonard / Olynyk

Actually, looking at that, someone is going to be unhappy. We can't go 11 deep and expect to have continuity. Spo has to be ruthless enough to bench guys if they don't have it that night. Mainly Herro or Nunn as they're more likely to be 'hot and cold' than the others.

To be honest Olynyk and Leonard aren't doing any better than Crowder was at keeping their bigs out of the paint. At least Crowder fights for position down low. Way too often Leonard waits until the ball hits the rims to start putting a body on the opposing teams bigs. They easily get prime position down low almost every possession.

Two takeaways from your post:
1) Iguodala really needs to show he can be more than an 11th guy in the rotation. Something he has yet to do.
2) Given DJJ’s injury history, Spo is nuts to even consider him in a power position.
