Yep. 10,471 points in 523 games.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/page/nbareturn29560382/the-evolution-james-harden-giannis-antetokounmpo-feud

I love how when Giannis made the comment “I want somebody who’s going to pass the ball” about harden, talking heads jumped on how harden actually averages more assists per game than Giannis, as to point out some hypocrisy, but didn’t look up the passes made per game stat, which is, you know, literally the metric of Giannis’ quote.

Tim MacMahon for ESPN Also states that harden has more assists per game than trae and Kemba (who Giannis considered instead of harden), but, once again, those players actually pass the ball more per game than harden.

It irks me when there are articles analyzing statements and parsing them out for fact or fiction, like that ESPN article, and they themselves are actually incorrect, too.

How do narratives start like this when there is really simple data you can look up? And how do supposed credible media members continue to conflate ideas of passing with apgzzz?

Unsurprisingly, Jokic makes the most passes per game.

Looking like Giannis is gonna pull off a historic accomplishment, only MJ/Dream the other MVPDPOY seasons. AD and Baguette Boban the other finalists

Not that this really matters in the grand scheme of things, but Giannis could still lose out on the PER record after today. After his last game he was at 31.92, but then this morning he was at 31.85 even though he didn’t play yesterday. I think this is due to the league averages going up yesterday. With one more day of games today, he could potentially move further down. And with the better teams playing in the bubble, the potential for the average to move up seems plausible.

I’d find that to be a shame, seeing as having any advanced stat record (as flawed as the stat may be) would be cool.

Looks like Giannis has a 1/4 lead in a 1 mile race based on known votes.

I hope Giannis gives a replica of the trophy to his front court mate.

We’ve gotten to the point where Giannis winning DPOY doesn’t even get its own thread.

So even trying to be as objective as I can about it, I honestly don't think it's close between him and AD, it would've been a travesty if Davis won it over Giannis. Like statistically it's really not close if you dig into some of the advanced/impact numbers beyond just the basic ass steal/block numbers. The amount of mental gymnastics I'm seeing out there (and a lot of it from non-Lakers fans who don't have a dog in the fight) to try argue Davis over him is pretty silly.

I would have been mad all day if Davis had won. Marcus Camby over Duncan mad.

Lopez has been great for two seasons now in his role he's asked to play. He's impacted games defensively for us. Saying he should be given a replica trophy as acknowledgment for that isn't a troll.
