I said this when he signed with the Clips, but I'll say it again. 20 years from now, "What if Kawhi had stayed with the Raptors?' is going to be one of those counterfactuals that sports-fans debate forever.

yup...it's going to be "what if VC and Tmac stayed" all over again

Not if the raps can win the title this season, add another star in the off season and become the greatest dynasty the NBA has ever seen!!!!

That was fun to get over excited about for 15 seconds.

Perhaps another inconclusive test. Needs two negatives to leave isolation like the kings player a couple days ago.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Crowder’s reference to “quarantine,” especially in these times, suggests that there is a concern about the coronavirus. Everyone inside the NBA’s so-called bubble, players included, is tested daily for the coronavirus. Those tests results are often back within 24 hours, sometimes much less.

If his test comes back positive the game better be postponed.

Raps were top notch last night

Well oiled machine already. One of the best games of the year and tjats saying a lot since theyve had many of them.

Credit nurse and staff. That was damn impressive on a 5 month break to play the way they did.

Gasol was awesome on D. Lowry was an mvp out there and OG was much improved.

Outstanding. Gotta love this team.

We doubled Ad on the catch and were able to rotate and recover back to the open man.

But one of the strategies on Lebron was amazing. As soon as Lebron even looked at the rim we had someone at 12 o-clock just outside of the restricted area setup to draw a charge.

Nick Nurse is amazing. He has schemes for different types of players. Make the lessor players beat you.

Nurse is such a refreshing sight after suffering through Casey's absolutely inane ass backwards defensive schemes.

As The King notes, the Raptors are built to win in the postseason. Lowry and Fred VanVleet form an electric, albeit undersized, backcourt that always keeps the offense humming. Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby are two devastating defensive forces on the wing—the most valuable currency in the playoffs—with developing offensive games (the former ranks 15th in the league in scoring, the latter had 23 points against the Lakers). And a slimmed-down Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka give Nick Nurse plenty of lineup configurations upfront while anchoring the defense and providing just enough on offense.

Nurse didn’t have the luxury of such depth during this season, fighting a never-ending string of injuries and ailments, but perfectly plugged in “continuity guys” (as LeBron called them) to keep the Raptors more than afloat. It’s been pointed out, but the 2019-20 Raptors have a better winning percentage (.723) than Kawhi’s 2018-19 Raptors (.707) that won the championship. But they also have a better net rating (6.5 vs. 5.8) and lower defensive rating (104.7 vs. 106.8) than last year’s team. This is a juggernaut—not a hobbled former champion.

Maybe you believe in the Ewing Theory. Maybe the Raptors have 2004 Pistons-level chemistry. Whatever it is, there’s been enough evidence for us to stop sleeping on the Raptors. While Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Bucks were historically good during the regular season, they were outdueled by these Raptors last postseason and they’ve yet to get over a playoff hump that not every superstar clears (even MVPs). It’s silly to assume the Bucks will stroll to the Finals and face whichever L.A. team survives the West. The Raptors are dangerous. These Raptors are dangerous. They have the NBA’s best record since January 15. And while they aren’t getting the respect they deserve, they also aren’t receiving any of the pressure.

Giannis feels the weight of trying to make his first Finals. LeBron knows he only has so many years left. Kawhi is trying to make a superteam marriage work. But the Raptors? They’re playing with house money. Count them out at your own peril.

It's nice to have actual adjustments and different schemes as opposed tobeing told to do the same thing harder.

Let us take a moment to reflect on our glorious post-it note playbook and MSPaint a play days. Huzzuh!

Not that this is thread worthy but LBJ was singing the last verse of O Canada. A nice gesture in their social justice solidarity message.

People who coin phrases "like social justice warrior" fail to acknowledge the most serious problems facing not just society but humanity and the planet that provides an existence. Whatever the issues one decides to drill down on and actively support, it is part of a much bigger picture. To evolve our thinking and actions and not be accepting passive spectators of an infetior and dangerous status quo.

If we don't ask we don't get. If we don't get we ask again with an expanding group of friends and peers and we always look for solutions that benefit the largest number. It is bigger than pre approved words on a jersey but... that is still progress. Lebron might stop criticizing China because of his own business intetests but he has enough problems in his own country to cast a critical gaze elsewhere.

It is going to take more than changing leaders within a failed state system to exert pressure for change. It is going to take intense focus and resolve from the bottom up. If we serve the economy the economy must first serve our most basic needs. We're not gdp or deficits we are communities and families.

If the Lebrons and others fail to spark the overdue and needed rebuild the world will look like Portland 365 days a year until the old is torn down and the new is made from the ground up.

People have to come first with taxes paid. Not contractual favours, not the military, not too big to fail bailouts of private wealth and certainly not institutionalized corruption.

Lebron gets it but he works in an industry where the employees are restless, fed up, and theirs is a business where their biggest resources and assets are their people. That applies to society as well. BLM! Power to the people. No going back.

China is no saint, but it is hard to criticize them when Black people are treated so poorly in the US. The US government has let the eviction moratorium expire, while at the same time has let the increase to $600/week UI increase expire. 60% of Black people, in the US, rent, while only 29% of white people rent. The pandemic down there is getting worse, not better, and they will be throwing people out on the street.
