Re: Around The NBA: 2019-20 RESTART
To present both sides, AK did draft MPJ but the year before he also traded Donovan Mitchell's draft pick for Trey Lyles.
The year before he did draft a gem in Jamal Murray with a #7. And with the #7 the year before he drafted a bust in Mudiay, who had very little info since he played in China.
But ultimately he's a GM that is willing to go high risk with his moves. I don't see him using a #7 on a guy who was destined to be a safe, serviceable low ceiling defensive roleplayer like Wendell.

I was one of the MPJ main defenders on this board. I really wanted the bulls to pick Porter. But I’m happy with Wendell. People are down on Wendell but honestly when healthy he’s in impact player. Carter, LaVine, White, Porter are probably the bulls best players honestly. Problem is 2 of them are plain injury prone. And one was a rookie learning the NBA.

Man I wish the bulls were able to grab Warren. I always liked his game. Bulls need to start looking at getting players like Warren instead of picking up and overpaying low impact scrubs like Sato.

He managed to not mention Sato in a post and immediately had to add another one to do it

Could've had him and a pick for cash considerations. Phoenix gave him away.

Funny enough, MPJ on this run has scored and played like good Lauri.

When are Denvers guards coming back? Seems I have seen Harris or Murray in forever

Re: Around The NBA: 2019-20 RESTART
Picker Carter over MPJ will always hurt if he continues to play like this. But at least we now have the guy that picked him.
The reason why I couldn't stand the Bulls drafting philosophy is because they never do risky picks that could pay off. Playing it safe will only lead to a smaller ceiling of a team.
Edit: Grammar

AKME? More like MEAK with how they're afraid to make a move to push us in one direction.

Re: Around The NBA: 2019-20 RESTART
One of the reasons the board didn't want MPJ was because he couldn't defend, how's his defense been?
Or have we advanced past caring about defense, like the rest of the league?

I don't think you worry about defense on rookies. Especially ones putting up 30 points a game on tremendous efficiency.
Beyond that, I also don't think defense was a real concern. I think health was a real concern and probably the only concern. If he was healthy coming out of college, then he probably would have been a top 4 pick.

Hooray for drafting a guy whose upside is solid starting center!

Well you know, Dunleavy needed a spiritual replacement in Doug, so RoLo needed Wendell.

They can make up excuses all they want for Markelle Fultz but he isnt even a quarter of what they thought he would be coming out of College.

I think the Yips condition is real with him. There is literally no other explanation. I've been running into more examples of the phenomena (focal dystonia) amongst successful athletes, musicians, etc.
There is no example of a player getting a shoulder injury and then completely losing their ability to shoot the ball for a year, essentially having to re-learn to shoot. I think the injury may have had a part in triggering it, but it seems to have had a neurological effect. His college FT% wasn’t amazing but his 3P% (despite being closer) speaks for itself.

Funny how AK gets all the credit for drafting MPJ when we all know he contributed but didn’t have final say.
Kudos to the poster that showed misses and hits. No one really knows how these FO’s make final decisions.
