GTJ brings to mind another blazer from years ago. Signed out of the CBA and became an instant star. A blazer for two years, out of the league two years later. Still holds the NBA record for playoff ppg (26) for a nonstarter. Can you name him?

You must me talking about Billy Ray Bates. I see no comparison between Trent and Bates. Bates was more like Simons. I hope Simons has a better head on his shoulders than the child molesting Bates did.

Hassan out. Who gets his 18 minutes?

My Guess : Herzonja...Melo slides to the 4 and Collins plays about 18 minutes at the 5

My Wish: GTJ picks up 4 additional minutes. Wenyen gets 14. Collins still plays 18 at the 5.

Why is Whiteside out? Is his ego injured?

This is pretty funny, and the answer is likely yes, but I think it's also a major concern for our success as well. What I mean is, it's no secret that NBA players have huge egos, sometimes act like babies, and need to be nurtured sometimes. I think now is one of those times. I've said recently that I think the big fella needs a hug. People around here don't show him the love, I think he really deserves. He's been HUGE for us this year and we wouldn't even be in Orlando without his 3 blocks per game. With that stat alone, he should at least get a mention for DPOY. Also keep in mind that he was a major FA target for Olshey just a few years back, and may be seen by NO, as a longer-term piece on a championship team.

What player wouldn't be a little bummed out. As I mentioned, he was having a great year, and now has to come off the bench. Sucks for him. But he is still, none the less, massively important to our success. If he dominates opposing team's second units, like we know he can, we could make a serious run this year, and over the next few years.

Give him some love.... somebody. Looking at you Dame and Melo. You are our leaders. He just needs to be shown how important he STILL is, for this team success.

RIP CITY!!!

Can't imagine Whiteside sitting out during a contract year. Guy has always been a "70 game a year" player. Preserving season stats by coming off injury prone seems like a neutral move at best.

Yeah. Conspiracy theorists will say the Clippers might be throwing this game to help ensure a Blazers-Lakers playoff match up. But the Blazers should also face a 76ers team without Simmons after facing a depleted Jazz team. Getting lucky with not facing teams playing their full rosters.

Also convenient that Portland taking the 8th seed is very much in the Clippers best interests.

I agree... Whiteside has to be legit hurting. His best bet to get something close to the next contract he wants is to look solid and be a good citizen during this.

They are 1.5 games in front of Denver and even with a loss today probably hold that spot.

Honestly... CJ has been killing the team for 3 games now. His defense is an abomination, and he's forcing it on offense. The team is significantly better with Trent out there right now.

Edit: Finally McCollum with some life.

My concern with CJ is he's not taking great shots. And he's missing a wide open Gary in the process. I can understand if he's trying to get himself in a rhythm for the play-in games if we make it there, but I think missing Gary in those wide open spots will be an issue if we get into the playoffs and it continues.

Yea. When Portland's offensive options are limited CJs tunnel vision is an a frustrating but acceptable flaw. When Portland has Gary Trent and Nurkic on the floor and CJ is putting up tough shots every other time down the floor it starts to become an unacceptable issue. He needs to start making the right plays. His points will come much easier if he makes the easy play more often. Hit the open man more often and defenses will start to give him more room to operate. Right now they just crowd him and he doesn't pass.

Collins is just clueless to anyone around him. 2 plays in a row he's just laxidasical. Wake up you dumba$$. You're playing against NBA caliber players.

When is Zach Collins going to learn to not bring the ball down after grabbing a rebound? At least once every game a smaller player grabs the ball right out of his hands after he brings it down to their level.

Collins isn't really there yet as a player. The injury unfortunately stunted the progression you might expect by this point in the season. I'm not overly worried about him though. CJ is an issue. He's playing like he's out there with the summer league squad. He needs to stop chucking bad shots, we have too many offensive options to settle for his horrible shots right now.

Are we watching the Clippers home announcers? Feels like TNT broadcast seems heavily Clippers focused.

Gotta get back to what they did in the first half. Nurk with 8 assists in the first half, 0 in the 3rd quarter.
