I didn't comment during the whole game since I've had **** luck with posting about game outcomes. So, me/Dame kinda split credit on this one.

Yep, 49% Dame, 51% you

You certainly would not want to run into pissed off Dame Lillard in the playoffs.

Holy freaking moly they actually won.

Is there ANY way we can get that 14th pick if the bucks lose?

I'm not sure there's any other kind of Dame at this point.

I assume that Portland just needs to win a play in (2 out of 2 games, rather than just 1)?

Which makes me happy since their likely 1st round opponent is the Lakers

Maybe the Clippers did it on purpose.

34-39 POR
33-39 MEM
33-39 PHO
32-38 SAS

Final games (all on Thursday):

MEM v. MIL 4pm ET
PHO v. DAL 4pm ET
SAS v. UTA 6:30pm ET
POR v. BRK 9pm ET

If MEM beats MIL and POR beats BRK, POR has 8th seed and MEM has 9th seed.

If MEM beats MIL and POR loses to BRK, MEM has 8th seed and the best of the rest has 9th seed.

If MEM loses to MIL, and neither SAS nor PHO win, POR has 8th seed and MEM has 9th seed.

If MEM loses to MIL, and either of SAS or PHO win, MEM is out entirely.

How fun would that WCF be? So much salt.

It has to be said, Melo played a huge role in that win.

Can’t believe people really thought he can’t play in the league anymore. Yeah he’s bad now, but never out of the league bad.

I always thought the argument was more about whether he'd accept a realistic role, not whether he could contribute at all.

Now it may be that we were way off about what constituted a realistic role. But I don't remember too many saying he genuinely couldn't play anymore.

For worst-case scenario, I believe:

If ORL beats NOP Thu and MEM beats MIL, even if MEM makes the playoffs, they'd be in a coin flip for 15/16
If ORL wins, MEM loses but wins the play-in, we get 15.
If ORL loses, and MEM wins the play-in we get 16.

If memphis wins then the suns are out.

Blazers win and they will have two games to beat memphis just once.

If blazers lose and memphis wins then the blazers have to beat the grizzlies twice.

Basically portland controls its own destiny in regards to getting that 8th seed.

As for the kings and spurs, they're not completely out but they're basically out.

Couldn't the pick be as high as #12 if Memphis finishes behind PHO and SAS?

Haven't seen anyone discuss that so legitimately just curious.

Lottery standings are frozen at pre-bubble records since 8 teams aren’t playing.

Gotcha so that means Memphis can't jump PHO and SAS in the lottery, even if they finish behind them in the standings?

Correct. 14 is our best possible result.

Which is okay. A little over a week ago 17 seemed like a forgone conclusion, so, if it holds, it's found money.

At 14, we'd have pretty decent assets for a trade-up, if there's a worthwhile target and a willing partner.
