I just realized the Lakers finished outside the top 10 in offense. They were 4th or 5th heading into the bubble. Those 8 games were more brutal than I realized.

He's one of those dudes that thinks having contrarian takes makes him more savvy than his contemporaries. And I don't mean it as in the dude will just take opposite stances just because it makes him feels smart, it's more like he's inclined to lean that way because to him it's outside the box thinking and that's what his confirmation biases wants to trend towards.

Because worst comes to worst he can just hide behind wrong predictions as saying the pattern that only he so intelligently observed wasn't enough to offset the trends the rest of the commoners clung to (therefore what he spotted wasn't incorrect, just the weighting he applied to it), but if he's right he's got an inherently better handle on what matters in basketball.

Hes always had a strong inclination for +/- but way too strong an emphasis on them.

He picked the Spurs over the Warriors in the 1st round of 2018 just b/c they were missing Steph and i bet a big reason for that was the on/off numbers b/w Steph and Kd

Come again  ? There's being dogmatic with stats... and then there's that. I mean, I guess that dude set himself up to look like a genius if the Blazers do win but just like 2018 99% chance he'll just look silly after the Lakers sweep the series.

Barkley predicting a Blazers sweep sure is something.

He is a good guy but he always goes clownish on all things LeBron.

I respect the Blazers chances a lot more then most, but a sweep would be absolutely ridiculous.

I appreciate the Lakers coming out with energy to start unlike that preposterous display by the Bucks lol. I'm waiting for the inevitable first half punch in the mouth

Good to see Davis and Green off to a hot start.

So early on...

Seems like LeBron is gonna get the same whistles he got in the RS. So he can take a ton of shots at the rim and not go to the line.

Danny Green is cold and the Lakers are desperate to get something going from 3. LBJ is providing open perimeter shots left and right, but it seems the struggle continues at least for now.

LBJ will have a hard time attacking the rim. If the Lakers keep this cold, as well as McGee is playing he has to get out and LBJ has to play in the post. Lakers can't keep playing the same if the results don't come.

His energy towards LeBron has never been the same since the decision when Bron clapped back on his comments by bringing up all the unsavory things he did during his career like pushing a guy through a glass window iirc

Very nice of Vogel to spot the Blazers some points by starting Javale McGee. Also gotta love him calling a timeout and then not making a single substitution despite the offense looking like a clogged toilet and Javale providing nothing on D.

Lakers are definitely big. Their defense at the rim has been superb in this game. Davis, McGee and LeBron are doing work on that category.

The rotations in the perimeter have been also good.

So one side of the floor is working.

KCP and Danny Green are killing the offense. If they can't shoot, Vogel seriously needs to think about another combo in the perimeter. Caruso, Kuzma and LeBron maybe?

Really feel like "3>2" math will be the culprit if this team falls short. It's frightening when Green and KCP are your most reliable outside shooters.

Not much to do when players aren't hitting open shots.

Like I said, it does not matter how bad a defense is when they are playing against players that miss wide open shots.

Green/ KCP

———-

It looks like Vogel will be going with regular season minutes and rotations in the playoffs.

LOL.

I guess he is resting them up for the golf course.

Got to play some Dion, Cook, and Morris it seems like instead of Mcgee minutes

Shooting is pathetic

This summer this team needs to trade and sign multiple shooters

If we don't win it all this year, it is b/c of the pathetic shooting.

DG is a fraud, Lebron and AD should tear into him

Dame is just unstoppable man. What can you do?

This is going to get out of hand if they don't turn things around quickly.
