Gordon + Frazier for Johnson + Culver + 17th pick?

Culver had a tough rookie year, but he's only 21 and his RPM was actually only -1.78 which was pretty good compared to his draft class.

Compare that to his peers from his draft class...

Better Rookies per RPM
1. Zion Williamson +3.29
2. Ja Morant +0.20
8. Jaxson Hayes -1.60
11. Cam Johnson -0.71
12. PJ Washington -0.55
20. Matisse Thybulle 0.00
21. Brandon Clarke -0.01
29. Keldon Johnson -0.17

Worse Rookies per RPM
3. RJ Barrett -3.84
4. DeAndre Hunter -2.32
5. Darius Garland -4.38
7. Coby White -2.84
9. Rui Hachimura -2.28
10. Cam Reddish -3.53
13. Tyler Herro -1.85
14. Romeo Langford -3.20
15. Sekou Doumbouya -4.35
16. Chuma Okeke - DNP
17. Nickeil Alexander-Walker -2.70
18. Goga Bitadze -4.09
19. Luka Šamanić - less than 100 minutes
22. Grant Williams -2.83
23. Darius Bazley -2.70
24. Ty Jerome -3.87
25. Nasir Little -3.18
26. Dylan Windler - DNP
27. Mfiondu Kabengele - less than 100 minutes
28. Jordan Poole -1.90
30. Kevin Porter Jr. -4.57

I do not know this Culver love. Why is this guy we need to trade for? I'd rather trade for No.2 pick

Gordon + Frazier for Johnson + Culver + 17... the Magic could go Kira Lewis at 15 and then take the big swing on Pokuševski at 17 and leave him overseas for another year.

Or they could package 15/17 and move up to like the 7-10 range if they really love someone like Hayes or Vassell.

A lot of options. Plus Culver would give them a young wing to develop and hopefully take over as the starting SG when Fournier departs.

I would too, but is the No. 2 pick even available?

The Magic would almost assuredly have to take on Wiggins at 29.5M. Gordon is only set to make 18.1M, so unless the trade happened 30 days after the draft, the Magic would have to kick in additional salary too. Plus we don't even know if the Warriors would take Gordon as a centerpiece.

And if Edwards goes 1st, then what?

I really like Ball and Wiseman, but you can't pick either one of those guys without being ready to immediately move Fultz or one of Vucevic/Bamba (if not both).

I also have a feeling the return for Aaron Gordon is going to end up being a lot less than some folks think.

Culver (last year's 6th pick) and 17 would be more than fair IMO. Rolling the dice on a young wing that the team so desperately lacks.

I like this. Culver is still an asset and Minnesota might be willing to move him. He struggled with his shot, but he was otherwise fine. He is going to be a good defender at the very least.

The culver idea is very intriguing, hes a very good young SG with alot of potential, and could be available if the wolves decide to take edwards or a PG (and move Dlo to SG)

I dont like the idea of trading gordon, and still dont believe they will trade AG now that isaac is likely out for AT LEAST next season, but if they were to trade him, that would be one of the better options as we would get a high upside SG and a top 20 draft pick. Biggest problem with that is that WeHam wouldnt allow this team to bring in 2 rookies+ chuma next year

Worst outcome for us. Our most likely trade partners moved to 1 and 2 smh...... I dont want to have anything to do with Edwards, Ball and Wiseman. Expending assets to get Hayes top 2 seems futile aswell..... I dont think phoenix will trade #10 for Gordon. They have Bridges and Cam going on for them.
Most likely scenario is #17 from min, but it doesnt excite me. Most likely we will hang onto Gordon for half more year. Clifford needs to use more of his magic.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Culver will likely be just as good as Gordon. You'd also get an expiring and a pick. I'd be okay with Johnson for a year. You could argue we'd be a better team next year.

Not a fan of Culver. I think we should trade AG for 10, great Poku before SAS/Boston and then pick one of Green or Maxey at 15

People keep saying this and I don't know why.

They brought in three rookies (Isaac, Iwundu, Birch) in Year 1 of their regime.

They brought in three rookies (Bamba, Frazier, Briscoe) in Year 2 of their regime.

But let's say they don't want to bring in three rookies. There are ways around that. They could draft Pokuševski with one of the two picks and leave him in Europe for a year. They could package 15/17 and move up into the 7-10 range.

Even if they bring in three rookies, they're not all going to be guys Clifford would be expected to play anyway.

Fournier doesn't opt out, the Magic would still have plenty of veterans in the rotation.

Both the #1 and #2 pick are rumored /officially — (about as good as it gets in this business) — on the table for trades.

Porzingis
Luka
Trae
...

How many times are we going to miss on a chance for a difference maker?

We have to go BIG for something. If we overpay so be it.

Get Anthony Edwards next to Fultz and Isaac and live with it for the next 5 years. If doesn’t work out you can’t say we didn’t make our move.

AG, Vuc, Bamba, Ross, #15, future picks ... name your price T-wolves and Warriors.

It would be a cap-savings addition of Wiggins.

In the end it might need to be more like Gordon + Birch + 15 for Wiggins +2 .

The Warriors get better and get depth. Golden St. currently cannot afford to carry the salary of the #2, and the 13M savings of shifting Wiggins for Gordon makes the team better defensively and Birch really solidifies their depth.

I agree. I think this is the year to buy low at the top of the draft with all the uncertainty and perceived lack of high end talent. It helps that the two candidates at the top of the draft have the need for a type of player just like AG too.

Edwards, LaMelo, Hayes - any of those three gets me hyped for next year.

I legit don’t trade AG for #1.

This is one of the worst drafts in modern times for a reason.

AG is a unicorn player. He’s always improving and maturing. He’s on the cusp of bigger and bigger seasons. And we’re gonna say, “nah, no thanks”?!

“Unicorns” earn All-Star recognition within 6 years.

AG is a Dunk Contest athlete not a Unicorn. Sorry.

This is a draft where there's not a lot of teams wanting mid-late 1st round picks, Magic would be smart to try and buy a late 1st an held add bench depth. There's tons of guards that will be available in the 20's like Lewis, Mannion, Maledon, Bane is another one I like.

Teams I'd look to buy or trade for a pick:
Dallas
Boston has 3 picks there's no way they're keeping all 33.
Philly - Youth wont help the playoff push
Denver - Stacked with youth
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Saddiq Bey looks good. Good defender who can guard multiple positions, with some offensive skill. He seems really similar to Okeke. He’s not the guard people want, but I like the idea of building a team all made up of strong individual and help defenders who can also play offense. I don’t think Bey gives us a post defender though.
