I dont follow college basketball much, but i would be generally against bringing a college coach to a veteran team that is in win now mode. The expectations are high, the time to adjust to the league is not much and i doubt the veteran players will respect him.

Dont waste your time. If Brett is replaced it will likely be SVG.

It’s going to be an experienced coach.

Yes that's my fear. SVG is an idiot, he shouldnt get another job after what he did with the Pistons.

It will be ridiculous if a The process hater is our coach. I doubt it.

Jay Wright would need to have the President of Bball Operations title attached. There's no way he leaves his perfect Nova life with Brand and the Colangelo remnants pulling the levers.

I wonder if we'd be able to pry a no nonsense guy like Dwyane Casey out of Detroit.

i'm also going to say it

I don't know if Wright is even that good of a coach.

Like he has got some top recruits and then basically benched them the last few seasons. Seems like a my system over everything type of dude.

SVG would be Eddie Jordan-level of stupid all over again. I don't want to go through that without Kate Fagan by my side.

Not sure about Wright, since I don't follow college ball, but in general great college coaches don't seem to do well with NBA players.

Luckily for our stars, I don't think either of them consider themselves "bigmen".

Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY will ever touch Eddie Jordan's level of stupid.

I think that really only applies to Jahvon Quinerly. And that kid and his mom seem like nothing but trouble:

I can't blame Jay Wright for that one. Sometimes you just come across a bad apple and have to distance yourself from it.

He's thrown the system out the window and let Scottie Reynolds do whatever he wanted in the past. Same with Jalen Brunson during his upperclassman years. As long as the bluechipper isn't a jackass, Jay Wright will defer to his stars to do their thing.

Still holding out hope Morey gets fired. And if I have to have a Van Gundy coach this team... please let it be Jeff and not Stan.

Gives some actual insight into his thoughts on the Sixers too. I'm actually buying up a lot of Bey stock in the past week.

Anyone who can score off the dribble is a good offensive fit for us because it's a multiple years long void. I just worry about Bey being a Mike Scott-esque defender that even role players can drop 20+ on.

Bill Self! he did an amazing job developing JoJo when he was skinny, raw, and wanting to go back home. and Jo looked good in the Kansas offensive scheme, moving and passing the ball.

I don't know if Self can coach entitled, insubordinate millionaires, though. He's too in-your-face and old school.

Jay Wright's demeanor is much more NBA-friendly IMO.

It's clear Jay is willing to only leave Villanova to go to the Sixers. He has said he has interest in the NBA but is happy with his current situation. With our front office being a complete disaster and Brett Brown on his way out, Wright would be walking into a situation where he maintains near the same control as he had at Villanova and gets to stay at his current home. It seems inevitable. The only thing I could see turning him off is the contracts of Horford and Tobias.
