let me get this out ima grown man but even grown man cant keep his tears from flowing everytime i see old footage of kobe anywhere. My dad called me 2 am in the morning cause thats when the news came out at the country i lived. jumping up to a news like that got me crying to work taking my #24 jersey and hanging it just to wish that whole day was just a dream. Never have i cried so much for someone who wasnt my family and to this day reading forums like this makes my eyes wet. I aint ashamed to cry for kobe and gigi 's death nor should any fans be. Gave all lakers fan many wonderful years even when season wasnt always pretty. Forever word Kobe is engraved in nba dictionary. Granted I just wish for lakers victory this season just for kobe's sake. Sorry for lengthy post just had to share my thoughts.

I was watching some interviews today about Kobe... Man, I'm pissed he wasn't here to see this championship...

Ive avoided this thread since the tragic death of Kobe and Gianna happened. I grew up remembering watching the draft and seeing kobe with the hat on wearing oakley glasses and just though how cool that was. Kobe was someone i looked up to in the sense on how to go at life. Attach everything and never settle. I even convinced my wife to move our wedding to 2019 ( we got engaged in 2017)
so our wedding could be on a saturday 8/24. We got a laker jersey made and that was our sign in book and everyone who came to the wedding signed the jersey. Shortly after the tragedy I learned my wife was pregnant with out first child. I never really cared if we had a boy or girl but man once this happened all i wanted was to be a girl dad. Last month we welcomed our daughter to this world Adalynn Gianna. I always thought it was just me who looked at Kobe more then just a basketball player he was so much more he was a golbal icon for so many. Going through this thread I just wanted to share how much Mamba meant to me personally.

My eyes became watery reading your post. Very cool story. Congratulations to you and your wife. My wife is expecting our 4th child... we have all girls. I'd be lying if I said I've always wanted to have all girls. Be that as it may, we won't be trying for another. I've convinced my wife to name our unborn child Gianna. I suspect the name Gianna will continue to increase in popularity in the coming years.

My dad and I happened to be together the day it happened- we are rarely able to be in the same town, same time, and see each other only a time or two a year usually. My wife and I were also dealing with the loss of our beloved pet of 15 years, which is as close as we can get to kids. My dad and I couldn't think of anything to say. A dad and his kid. No words.

We love ball and went to games together, and he brought me up watching the Lakers-Celtics finals, we were watching the Pacers-Pistons game together, saw so many other big games and events together. Kobe was so huge to my deep league love. I still can't believe it. It doesn't seem possible.

Just wanted to pay my respects here. Thanks. Love to all, we all love the game and we lost a legend way too soon.

Whenever I watch this bookmarked tribute video, I always get teary-eyed almost half way through it.

Why they got to put in the cello music in there?????

Class act deep down Cuban is even though his public persona is a bit surly.

Kudos to Mark and his Mavericks organization.
