Crazy they have the #4 defense in the league and have 3rd best defense in the paint with all those matadors!

and yet they'll still get knocked out in the 2nd round again

Yeah, getting backdoor swept in the next round is so much more impressive.

Ok I hate doing this but this post coming from a Sixers fan of all people is just hilarious. Oh have the tables turned my friend...

Haha - I was going to go look for this post myself. I got it very wrong.

Brad Stevens is amazing, to turn a team with Kantor and Walker on it into a great defensive team, probably should have gotten him COTY. Easily the best coach in the NBA, he makes his players better. If he was coaching the Sixers they probably would be on their way to back to back championships this year.

Dawg, get out of here. People know your opinions suck at this point.

Uh this is the General board, why dont you go back to the Celts board and prepare for a 2nd round ousting.

Yeah Toronto is really tough. Good point. Who do you have in the 2nd round?

People forgot about Steven's after the Kyrie debacle last season. I'm not necessarily sure that Philly needs to break up Simmons/Embiid if they can find shooting and a good coach

Still a bit of a back handed compliment. People always play the coach card when they are significantly wrong about the talent. Love Brad, but that poster is outrageously underrating the talent on the Celtics. 3 20 PPG guys and another wing dropping 17/5/5. Not really just coaching. Just a lot of freakin talent.

Hey, so I came in here to laugh at you, but I actually respect you fronting up and owning it. Kudos to you. What's this forum about if not homerism, opinions, and a few laughs.

*tips hat*

To your point, I really rate Stevens. But we face the Raps now, and I'm not convinced we have the best coach in the series. Nurse is goooooood.

It could happen. We're playing a tough, well-coached team.
But it won't be because 'We're matadors who are tough to watch for their fans.'

Far from it. Love this team, and we'll see how they deal with a real challenge now. The homer in me says Celts, the judgey dude in the back of my head says Raps, mostly because our bench lacks pop.

I don't bet on Celts games or series much...too hard to separate emotion for me.
If Lowry is fully fit, this feels like about the right bet (I'm obviously hoping it's inaccurate).
Hayward being out will expose how thin we are, and Nurse is good at exploiting weaknesses, which has me worried about someone like Kanter being able to give us much bench scoring. I think he's gets parked.

I like our coaching and prep, but the Raps are as good as anyone in that area.

I'll go Celts in 7, which is exactly why I wouldn't bet the series.

The guy is an excellent big defender and rim protector. They couldn't have found a use for that, at least situationally?

Would love to see Baynes on the lakers next year.. the dude can legit stretch the floor as a 5.

These people were so pressed that they couldn't wait and posted this after a meaningless preseason game. The Celtics won that game btw

Just as a note if you do that to my dumb posts, I'm not going to understand that you are doing it so I'm forced to re-visit my terrible take. I'm going to view it as a ringing endorsement by a board reg. 8-)

I turned my and-1 notifications off a couple years ago. It drastically improved my experience on this board overnight.

But now I'm kind of curious if I've missed the opportunity to laugh at myself, if any of my old awful takes have gotten and-1'd and I didn't know it.

Wait this was posted after a preseason win? Honestly it's been so long I don't even remember. What was the deal with that game that instigated this thread? Did our starters suck for that one game and the deep bench came back to give us the win?

It was the first preseason game. Theis was injured, didn't play, and our starters didn't play well. Other than that, I don't remember much.

Why does the OG poster think that Simmons is the difference between the embarrassing sweep of the Sixers and winning it? Simmons is NOT a 4 game swing.

Not to mention the Celtics were without Gordon for 3 games them self.
