Clippers coach Doc Rivers didn't sound confident about Patrick Beverley being able play in Game 5 on Tuesday.

Basically, Rivers said that he hasn’t heard anything to indicate that Beverley would play soon and that he wasn't counting on him being available for Game 5. Reggie Jackson and Landry Shamet have been picking up some run without Beverley but neither has played to a level that would give fantasy managers any confidence to deploy them.

Can win the series? Yes! Will win the series? Probably not, but we do have a chance. Luka is the best offensive player on the court in this series. Kawhi is a better all around player. Hopefully, Paul George will stay in his cocoon.

Luka is the best player in the series. Period. His defense was great. Along with scoring and playmaking it's not even a discussion.

An MRI on Kristaps Porzingis' sore right knee came back negative.

This is wonderful news and Porzingis will undergo treatment at Monday's practice. He's still listed as questionable on the official injury report, but Shams Charania of The Athletic is reporting that he will be a game-time call as the Mavs wait and see how his knee responds.

If its the same knee as the acl then mavs need to pursue trades this summer, if he's never going to be healthy might as well maximize his value

Hes had a few minor issues, which likely as much comes down to being cautious with him.

All-NBA talent and played to that level in 2020. Good fit with Luka and still young. Better keep him - and I don't see any team trading equal value for him.

Looks to be the other knee but its moot, he needs to stay healthy

I'm beginning to lose faith in his health.
If Wizards would consider a deal with the primary pieces being KP and Beal I'd say the Mavs should consider.
The main objective is to keep Luka in Dallas and I'm not sure KP is going to hold up too many more years.

I think Rivers has started to lose the players after the 'emotionally weak' comment. Actually, Clippers play decent defense but the Mavs just scores a little better last game. Putting blames on hardworking players is nonsense for a coach. I am not sure how this turn out on court. But this sort of comment will bring an impact on the floor. Maybe players stop listening to coach and play on their own. That's ridiculous. Even if Clippers advanced, this significantly weaken their chance to champ.

I'm not going to deal with "trade" KP thing. Front Offices don't work that way. The Mavs aren't' going to trade for one of the top players in the league, and then go to the effort of rehabbing his leg for half a year, pay him the maximum salary, and suddenly decide after only 57 games that we should trade him even if it's for less value. That's insane. And I haven't even mentioned that he's averaging a double-double, a good teammate, and has progressed throughout the year.

The Mavs went through this scenario BEFORE they traded for him. They knew they would be nursing his health this season. They're managing his games and watching him with caution. He's probably right where they thought he'd be health-wise. Probably better. So please...

However, I wanted to comment on Darren's statement from Rivers, "I think Rivers has started to lose the players after the 'emotionally weak' comment".

I was thinking about that as well. My guess is that this will likely be the last time Doc can say anything like this. You can only do this once and maybe you can light a fire under your team. But this will likely be the last time he tries to pull this motivational stunt in a playoff game. Veteran players should never need to hear this at all during the playoffs.

If the Clippers lose this series it will be a huge issue with the Clippers team going forward. I expect the Clips will come out really fired up for the next two-three games. I expect them to win the series, but I've learned a lot about the Mavs recently, so I don't count out that they could pull off a big upset.

Every game onward is elimination game. I expect Clippers to punch back. Be prepared. Take a game at a time. Don't rely on last shot magic. We've more chance. The Mavs is still better off taking a comfortable lead and run away. Contested 3 from 30 feet is not a good way to end game.

Anyone know if KP is likely to play? I haven't heard any news on that front.

LAC 6.5 point favorites.
It's been the case every game so no big deal. We know what we need to do to win.

GTD, but from everything I’ve read and heard it sounds like he will indeed play and he likely could’ve even played on Sunday if they wanted him to... as evident by him being in uniform for tip-off.

I can’t imagine he played >30 minutes again this round regardless

Just hope KP can be back for G5, Maxi and DFS has been playing too many minutes, and all the key defense and rebounding tasks are on their shoulders, which have already affecting their shooting, as evidenced by their relatively low 3pt shooting %

So far in this series I picked the winner correctly on all 4 games so lets hope I keep the streak alive. The Mavs will win game 5 if KP plays today. I think the Mavs solved the Clippers puzzle and know exactly how to win now. They might even blow them out tonight. If Mavs stay healthy, they are winning this series in 6. I dont think the Clips can come back if they lose tonight. Its a do or die game for them.

It's quite sad really. 1st game he gets thrown out while Mavs were on top of them and now his knee is melting down or something... I hope Iverson shows up again and THJ turns into Ray Allen, otherwise LAC will be on cruise control.
