So it’s for sure because you cherry picked a bunch of stats off of just this one season? How about PER? Box +-? Smart was 12th among pg in rpm at 2.3, OG had a negative rpm this year! You conveniently left that out Home fans can’t be objective on this subject, it’s impossible. EverDiso is the biggest proof you need. We can cherry pick all the stats we want. What do non Celtic/Raptor fans think? What’s the media’s perception?

I don’t know, with the exception of a few fans on both sides, I think both have been pretty fair, and complimentary of the other teams.

Yeah for the most part. Doesn’t mean referencing things like offensive per 36 stats the past two seasons in the clutch on back to backs doesn’t drive me crazy though.

All I know for sure is the a Raptors are deeper. I do feel Kemba Brown and Tatum are better than FVF Lowry and Siakam. We'll find out. I hope they put Tatum on Lowry defensively.

Raps fans are gassing up the Celtics so they can **** on us if they beat us. That's why some are downplaying Hayward's injury imo.

Smart is their version of OG - beastly elite defender. He can't finish but he's a good ballhandler/distributor, while OG can finish but isn't a good ballhandler/distributor.

Relax. PER is literally right there... Can you not see ? I just took all the stats available on BBall Reference. Didn't cherry pick anything. But even looking at RPM. Guys like DJ Augustin, Ricky Rubio, and Pat Beverly are ranked above Smart. Does that mean they are better? I don't know about you but I'd take Smart over those three any day of the week.

Smart is an offensive liability. He's an exceptional defender and I have him on my All-Defense team but OG gets the edge over him because he can actually contribute offensively while also being an exceptional defender.

Don't know why you're getting so aggressive when all I said was that OG has the ''edge'' over him. Most of the numbers would suggest that too. I wouldn't have a problem with anyone suggesting Smart is better, because the two are pretty close at the moment. [But I'd take OG on my team given his age and potential]

With Vanfleet's contract coming up next year, you Rap fans should be pushing the idea of him being only the 10th or 11th best player on the floor. You keep trying to push him higher will only make his value increase. We've already signed Brown. We can praise the crap out of him, and it won't cost us anything!!!

One thing about the Tatum-Lowry thing: Raptors fans need to remember this guy sounds like he won't be close to 100% in this series, at least at the beginning. Considering Tatum kinda shut him down the last game (to be fair Lowry missed some open shots and I'd put Smart on him personally to pressure him full-court to make him feel the ankle), it's going to be pretty tough for him to match Tatum in this series, unless OG and Siakam really shut him down.

it doesn't matter who was better this year, or even who is better now. the only thing that matters is who will be better in this series. some guys will step up and play their best. some won't. some will get shut down. some won't. honestly I don't watch enough celtics to have an opinion on who will excel and who won't for you guys. but based on everything i have seen of this raptors team i am pretty confident that most if not all our guys will step up and play their best. we are 32-5 in our last 37 games and put up 150 points in our last game. the celtics definitely have a lot of good players but to beat us the they will all have to play their best too. will they?

Kemba Walker is the weakest link if his shot is not falling he should be puled from the game and play Smart.

2 games in, I'd list the entire Celtics roster and then OG Adobe. Only one team and one guy from the other team has shown up so far. Disappointing to type that.

If the Celtics want to feed Smart and "exploit a mismatch" on Lowry, Toronto lives with that 100% of the time -- and encourages it. That's exactly what Toronto will want to happen. Force players like Smart, Theis/Kanter and Wanamaker into more offensive responsibility.

Doesn't look like he's going to get much burn in this series for matchup reasons, but Kanter's offense is a large part of the reason he's still in the league. It's sure not his defense.

And Wanamaker, limited though he is, was near the top of the league on catch-and-shoot threes, at 48.3%.
