It's pretty incredible how well Tyler Herro is balling for a kid who turned 20 during the season.

Through 9 playoff games:

14.7ppg, 4.9rpg, 3.3apg, 0.2bpg, 0.3spg, 1.6tpg, 32.4mpg
41.3%fg (4.8/11.6), 40.0% 3fg (2.4/6.1) and 85.7%ft (2.7/3.1)

He really does have such a high ceiling. He'll probably start next year with Gogi moving back to the bench, wouldn't be shocked to see him dropping 18/5/4 next year at all. He's going to be really good.

Also, I know we get annoyed at Jimmy for not taking over and forcing the issue offensively at times, but his series averages vs Milwaukee were pretty nice (even if most of the damage came in two games):

23.4ppg, 5.8rpg, 4.4apg, 0.2bpg, 1.8spg, 3.0tpg, 36.6mpg
52.6%FG (6.6/12.4), 48.0% 3FG (1.0/2.2) and 87.4%FT (9.2/10.8)

We're going to need him to be more consistent in the next round. He's never been to the Conference Finals, so we'll see...hopefully he can continue to be big time for us. We're going to need it...

Here's a good read by GQ on Jimmy and what makes him special: https://www.gq.com/story/jimmy-butler-anti-star-of-the-nba

What's absolutely beneficial for someone like Herro is the amount of veteran leadership that is around him. I mean, this kid is blessed with smart/tough basketball minds. Goran is able to teach him how to play under control and run an offense. Jimmy teaches him toughness and hard work. He even has someone like Iguodala - a 3x champion/Finals MVP - that's an ELITE defensive tactician.

And to think this dude is only 20 years old. Image

I hope the conference finals games are a bit more spaced out. It's fun to have games everyday right now, but I think guys from all teams are starting to get worn out from this pace, even with the lack of travel

Sorry this is so late. Was dealing with health issue yesterday. I'm good now.
Great win & close out of the series. Heat move on to the ECF.
That sounds good doesn't it?!

I'm so ready for the Celtics to get all the "superstar" calls.

They have no easily moveable salary. The only guys they have on the books making significant money are guys they need. They would need to trade multiple real contributors (and picks) to make it happen. Their team would lose depth. It still would probably be a good move for the limited scope of next season, but the potential for oft-injured 35-year old CP3 to miss time could be disastrous. He stayed relatively healthy this season, but that's a major risk IMO

Good game for him all around, didn't know that story about him getting heckled by folks in his hometown either-- good for him for keeping his head down, that type of social barbarism really makes me hate sports

I read that as “try to compete in Milwaukee for a single year and then join the culture”

They don't bother me that much, I just thought it was funny that I used a few words and Spanish and subsequently got inundated with these ads--
