Hopefully this lights a fire under Siakam. People are gonna be taking shots from every direction but he deserves it. Derozan was bad but Siakam looked like the worst Raptors playoff performance ever.

This is what happens when you try to reward players after one good season. There was literally no reason to max him early, you just make your job harder than it has to be doing sentimental crap like that

If you told me before the game that Walker, Brown and Smart would combine for 4-24 from 3, I'd thought we would have won the game.

I'm just sad it's over because this season and run has just flat out been more enjoyable than last year. I was hoping we'd get one iconic series win with this group w/o Kawhi.

We can analyze every play, and there are many to go over for a few days, but the effort down the stretch just made you proud. This game was going south very quickly, and they once again battled back to have the ball down one possession...

Only want to pick out one thing because it did seem like a slight turning point. In the second quarter Ibaka hits all three of his free throws to go up 40-33. Raptors are balling, and nurse brings in Powell and Gasol for Lowry and Siakam. Just the wrong group, and as we saw with Stevens and Kanter earlier in the year, every possession is important. Anyway, it led to two bad turnovers and Raptors lost their groove and the Celtics stormed back very quickly. Raptors didn't score a point for four and a half minutes after that.

Not to mention Gasol getting his predetermined minutes regardless of the situation and his dire performance.

He was absolute **** the entire playoffs, restart and even before then. We should have waited to give him his. I think Masai had the african blinders on cause there's no way in hell he's a max player.
forget being a number one option. the guy was horrible. anytime he had the ball in his hand there was a 80% chance something bad was going to happen. I've never seen someone fold this significantly in a playoff series before.

there HAS to be something we're missing. the Celtics were even giving him single coverage and he couldn't do a thing. I wonder if we hear anything about an injury or something.

he was mentally fried. pascal didn’t just start struggling in the bubble guys.

the coaching staff billed him as a first option player and cornerstone..the early start got to his head and everything came down around january. at this point he was in his head

Theres a time and a place to poo poo on Siakam. Now is not the time. Guy is still technically on his rookie deal and this was his first real run as the go to guy. Theres a reason why Luka was drafted 3rd and Siakam was drafted 27th, Siakam is not as naturally talented, or skilled to be a star in his early years in the league. Patience people. We will get there.

I really like Lowry.
Siakam is not Lowry, he's not even in the same galaxy.

Pascal is going to go down as one of the worst contracts in sports history.

This isn't a mentally tough and smart player who had a bad series and bounces back. This signing is going to haunt us for years.

Where was Matt Thomas all series?! He didn't look that bad on defense and he either scored or created space for others on offense!

Also, I find him to be a much better playmaker with much better vision that Fred. I wonder if we can get him to tighten his handles.

God damn, some of you guys are ruthless

Pascal was garbage juice but this was his first season as the #1 guy. He showed moments early in the season, made the all star team and then clearly struggled down the stretch and then in the bubble after a long lay off.

Give the guy a chance to grow from this.

Siakam’s offense cost us this game and this series (and Nurse carries some real blame for that by continuing to give him free rein). At least now we know what he is though and can plan accordingly. He’s still a very good player but just not a #1 option on an elite, championship contending team and almost certainly never will be.

Lowry almost carried us to a series win we didn’t deserve but respect to the Celtics and particularly Marcus Smart. Great battle.

FFS we still have guys crying over DD after winning a championship I guarantee this Siakam whining will stop

most Raptors fans don't take the regular season seriously anymore after what we've been through (I don't)....Siakam could look great next season and people will just say "lets see if he can do this in the playoffs"

Can’t believe there are people on here defending him. Truly insane.

You really think he won't work on his game and come back a better player?

Can you think of a single player in the history of the NBA who has ever had a series like this and then come back and become a high-end playoff performer? If not, what makes you think Siakam will be the first?

The best thing about this season being over is gasol being gone. Great guy, great career And thanks for helping us win a championship but he’s finished As a NBA player. Hopefully he see’s out his days as hero playing in the Spanish League.

This. And I don't see this changing. He has too much of a playful attitude. Kyle was always fiery.
