I noticed this trend of people saying "yeah we lost but we still won the 2019 championships. Still champs."

If you ask someone like Tom Brady on what his favorite championship is. He would say the next one. Success is a journey not a destination, we need to stop always trying to point back to the past we need to look forward and build from that title.

Casey again says, "I don't think someone dominated us, I wouldn't use that word."

when you lose your finals MVP you're not supposed to win the championship the next season, that has never happened in the history of the NBA

the 2019-20 Raptors had an eerily similar playoff ending to the Jordan-less 93-94 Bulls that were led by Pippin (they won the championship the previous season obviously with Jordan)

The 93-94 Bulls with Pippin leading the way, swept the Cavs in the 1st round, then went down 0-2 to the Knicks in the 2nd round, and ultimately lost in game 7 just like the Raptors.

Imagine a message someday in 2021 will be released on the cover of the Toronto star quoting "Board Man is back" 8-) don't see it, but hey, anything is possible. It's the journey

Why did the Raptors go away from using their bench at all when it was their strength all season? Also, OG 5 pts? Gasol 6 pts? Not going to get it done.
On Gerald Henderson vs Derozan:
"Yes. Hendo is quite a bit better than DeMar.
So yes, I do believe he's currently the better player and do project that will continue to be in the future. I would also take Turner over DD."

It was a great year, but the roster obviously needs improvement and our player personnel abilities are second to none.

The bashing of Nurse is idiotic. There's nothing else to say.

Siakam owned his issues and I have no doubt that he'll be better for it. He flat out works, and improvement comes in the offseason. A big portion of this board spent years slamming Kyle.. he became what he is after 30. Siakam is still young enough to make a big jump.

Van Vleet wasn't his usual self, but I still want him back. I don't care about the contract debate.

Gasol, love ya man. Enjoy retirement.

Ibaka, he needs to be brought back, but the competition is going to be there.

We're in great shape. We have our picks, we have our development, we have cap flexibility.

Anyway, I'm on team positive.

I'm honestly happy with running it back and getting an upgrade like Victor for Fvv and working on backup center/pg to replace fvv and likely Gasol. Im sure there is a way to do this without jeopardizing 2021.

It's unfortunate that we didn't get to play Game 7 at home. That outcome would be different.

True Raptors instead of getting second seed home court got the soundtrack to let's go Raptors including bonus track crowd noise. While we saw a reasonable exhibition of competitive basketball exiting the bubble feels like yeah so what. Next.

Lol whats there to unfold? The KD and Kyrie show is about to begin for years to come..

I guess the only positive is we have a new tank commandor maxscal ziakam..

Think about it his last 3 games he combined 128 total minutes and combined 35 total points ..

If masai plays his cards right on this one we'll win the lottery next summer

That's why it's so fascinating. We'll see what Masai works out and what the rest of the guys do to improve. Easy solution for those really pessimistic folks is just not to watch.

The athletes on the team aren’t saying this, but the fans are.

I’m a fan, I’m not a member of the Raptors organization so I’m fine looking at the glass half full and celebrating how much enjoyment this team has brought me over the course of the season.

The players of course are upset that they lost, but the fans are not the players.

We’re just fans who remember a time in Raptors history when it was once said, “Sometimes you have to play for the name on the...”

You haven't explained anything to be fascinated about other than the fact we have a off season coming up .. guess what? So do the other 29 teams. Sound like a sheep to be honest.

What was fascinating about the prior off season was masai pulling the plug on derozan for the playoff atrociousity which masai deemed insane had he kept rolling with that core.

Maybe you're fascinated at the fact masai see's the same garbage in pascal and hopefully does something about it

Both McCaw & Brissett were injured. Video highlights from our only regular season win vs Boston (W/o Gasol, Siakam, Norm).
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Matt Thomas obviously worked on getting stronger during the break and his defense has been improved during the bubble. He got playing time and played well. I just don't understand why he didn't continue to get minutes in the 2nd half? Boston kept using Wanamaker and Ojeleye. Thomas was a 1 for 1 and a +6 in 4 minutes in the 1st half. Surely another 4 minute breather would've helped FVV, instead of playing the entire 2nd half.

Terence Davis looked lost and not effective on defense. Boucher fumbled a rebound I believe in game 6, and really didn't do that much in the time he was given. Really only Thomas showed he could help.

If there's a breakout and 2nd wave and it hits the bubble and the season is canceled, the Raptors would Still be the Champs. :D

Let’s just move on, shall we? Lol.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I probably missed previous conversations related to your post. I think this offseason will be very fascinating for lack of a better word. What direction do the Raptors go? Does Kyle want to stay or move on to chase another ring? What could we get for Kyle? What about the contracts related to FVV and Ibaka.

Also, I'm interested to see what NN looks like coaching a team with less talent and experience. Not to mention the idea of getting a lower draft pick, even if it's a mid first rounder. I am also feeling confident that Pascal adds more to his game and will be easily trade-able if it comes to that.

As a player, yes. As a fan...meh. Commitment will differ person to person. As a long timer like myself, I’m satisfied. Disappointed our fully healthy team is inferior to the Celtics, but the days of being so upset or (in my case) having resentment towards certain players and management is not energy I need anymore.
