Re: Celtics exposed?
Am I understanding correctly that Raps and Sixers fans are still chiming in to defend their positions that the Celtics have been EXPOSED?
We just beat y'all lol.

You created this thread to bait and can’t even own it. You bumped it well into the series as well. You’re an absolute joke.

You should be. This is the only thing you've said in the thread that is factual.

Tatum: Averages 24/10/5 in the series against the Raptors.
You: See, the Raptors strategy of nullifying Tatum worked.
I can’t imagine what someone like Kawhi or even Jimmy Butler would’ve averaged had Raptors tried to guard them like that.
Celtics fans don’t want to hear it but Tatum’s 24 and 5 were kind of hollow. Their Ortg was only 102 with Tatum on the court vs. 119 with him off, by far the worst on the team.
Raps Jedi mind tricked him. They lost the series because they couldn’t score not because Tatum was good. He was merely ok despite having the best match up of anyone all series.
You might want to look at which of the Celtics starters spent a lot of time playing with the reserves.

You got us there. Few Celtics fans saw the Bucks' fiasco coming.

Re: Celtics exposed?
I will be looking at how Bam Adebayo does to see if he can be a major contributor in delivering a series for the Heat against the tough and favored Celtics. He looks to be clearly in the spotlight against a donut team. He will need to score in double digits and get his regular season averages in the playoffs. Marc Gasol couldn't generate much offense and lost touch on his 3-ball. What a disastrous series for him and the Raptors! Bam isn't a 3-pt shooter, so he has to maintain his mid-range and inside scoring.
I thought the Celtics faced their toughest test with the Raptors, but the Heat have been a pleasant surprise beating the Bucks soundly. They matched up well against the Bucks weaknesses. However, the series vs Celtics is different. I had to look over the results during the regular season; The Celtics had advantage playing the Heat on the second night of B2B games. The Heat are the ones rested so they will have to come out winning. I think they have the better coach in Eric Spoestra; It isn't even close. They also have Bam Adebayo who is better in the middle than anyone the Celts can put up. We'll have to see if Bam and the Heat can take advantage and come out smoking against a donut team.

The bolded is not true. Not sure where you're getting that from. We resigned him to a 2-year deal 3 months before the OP of this thread.

Re: Celtics exposed?
By the way, anyone thinking C's fans are going too hard in this thread right now, you have to keep in mind what we're reacting to:
Hot takes get hot responses when they're that wrong. These posters need to ask themselves what biases they had that made them evaluate us so incorrectly.
This is what reasonable analysis looks like, bringing up both positives and negatives:

Hayward sounds healthy. They have some young defensive bigs and one of them might pop. Brad Stevens is a good defensive coach.
I think Boston will be mediocre this year and that the loss of Horford was not measured accurately when analysts were predicting records. But as long as they avoid long stretches of Kemba and Kanter on the floor, they'll be just fine. The Spurs managed a top 3 defense over 2 years (1st and 3rd) starting old Tony Parker and old Pau Gasol and teams would obliterate them in pick & rolls. They compensated with a strong defensive bench unit and some switchy perimeter defenders.

Their best hope is for the young guys to take a significant next step.
A whole lot of posts like this in this thread.
Horford is just another one of what is it 10+ players now that should donate half their check to Stevens that his coaching tricked some other team into dramatically overpaying them for.
Important to note: at this point in time, Theis was thought to be playing in Germany this season. If they were limited to Kanter/Timelord, they would not be as successful as they are now. Still they've surpassed my expectations with or without Theis.
People were just sleeping on theis..as was I. Celts fans I remember were touting this guy well before the season started and those that did deserve credit

Yeah I didn't want to call him out too hard because I wasn't even calling him out for his take. Just saying it's a one a lot of people had and Horford has proven he is cooked and likely Stevens was scheming him to hide it as much as he could.
Then he goes and say that which... I just think wasn't ever once reported. Says a crazy take in the playoffs on a thread that's only supposed to be crazy takes in the pre season or early season.
I just... don't know what to say man. I was like what?

Maybe this is Kyrie who is exposed....Kyrie had only played in the playoffs once with the Celtics since 2017 and they didn't make the ECF because the lockerroom was so toxic and Kyrie was a horrible leader and make Brad Stevens look very bad.
The other 3 years they were in the ECF.

Spot on, Just like Kevin Love who could not win a lick w/o Lebron or as you say Kyrie whi was getting the Cavs number 1 picks they were not great players untill the King walked back into town. I love what the Celtics are doing, i could only imagine how this team would be if you put Dame Lillard inplace of Kemba... My god that team would be nasty.
