I couldn't tell whether Tom's second INT was a result of miscommunication with Evans.

Anyways, Bucs defense has been getting shafted by bs pass inteference calls.

Brady should have retired, had a day of accolades and called it a career. But no, he wants to hang on and lose like Brett Farve. Brady is no longer relevant.

Eh its just one game.

They could go out next week and throw up 42. But the difference is is that the Pat's TEAM runs like a well oiled machine, meanwhile we cant say the same about tampa bay.

Actually, I think he's gonna have a hell of a year, in part because people are going to keep saying **** like this. Deflategate turned out to be one of the better things that happened to his career, because after, for the first time since his early career, he started coming out every play as if he had something to prove to the world. Bucs have him surrounded with good RB depth, Gronk, Mike Evans, a decent supporting WR corps and what appears to be a decent O-line. New playbook, new teammates, but give him a few games and he'll be making things happen.

His wife makes that in a few months. Sure it's only one game. But he can forget about super bowl #7.

Cam and the defensive backfield had a great game. A few miscues such as a Harry fumble and to a lesser extent Edelman drop cost the Patriots but for the most part miscues were kept to a minimum. Edelman still did a good job getting separation. Besides the fumble, Harry had a good game as well. Cam showed good accuracy throughout the game but especially on the throws to Harry. They may not have been long throws but they were tight windows.

I'd like to see the Patriots work the rookie tight ends as soon as possible. I more than trust that BB and the Patriots coaching staff knows what they are doing. I can't imagine they want Newton running 15 times a game throughout the entire regular season at least. Better to use the threat of the run to make it easier to pass and perhaps just have him average 6-8 carries per game. Unlike Russell Wilson who the Patriots will be facing next week, Newton clearly takes and dishes out the bigger hits when he is running.

Secondary played like first half of last year which is saying they played well. 3 interceptions. The offensive line did well. Nice to see Andrews back.

Brady will have a very good year but in order for Tampa to be a true contender he has to have a transcendent year, like his MVP days. I don't think he has that gear anymore. But if the Bucs goal was to be relevant again, they've succeeded. So there's that.

Meanwhile it was a nice scrimmage against a crap team for the Pats. True tests begin next week. Playing like they did yesterday ain't gonna get it done against the Seahawks.

Also, low-key trolling of Tom by BB, constantly praising Cam when it seemed like every compliment he ever made to Brady was almost gruding.

Issue is the amount of mistakes this team was making, I know it's only game 1, but it is clear that the bucks just are nor disciplined like Brady is used to in new england. Either they will improve or they wont but those guys have been practicing together for 3 or 4 months now. Brady was getting in trouble for it with the league because they were breaking COVID rules. Just surprised.

Bucs head coach now has reversed course and said Mike Evans and not Brady made the mistake on the first Brady pick. According to Arians, if the Saints were in Cover 2, it would have been Brady's mistake but since they were not, Arians said it was Evans mistake. I don't think Arians should be BB in press conferences but he should be like the majority of coaches and just say, I have to look at the film and perhaps talk to the players before commenting.

I still think Brady has what it takes to be Super Bowl winning QB but he needs a bit more around him than 3 years ago. It is very questionable whether the Bucs have it. I think the Bucs realistic upside is making the Super Bowl if nearly everything goes well for them and then losing it. Bucs I think only make the Super Bowl if they stay fairly close to injury free and some of the teams that appear better on paper and on the field during week 1 suffer key injuries.

Brady gets his 250th win including playoffs. Peyton is 2nd with only 200. Favre at 199. Brees 4th with 172, Elway 162. Big Ben 159. Marino 155. Drops off hard after that. Crazy stat.

Awful news about James Whites parents. Hopefully, his mother survives the car crash.

I like the new Pats unis, the white away jerseys look particularly crisp.
