The Oakland Athletics have lost Matt Chapman for the remainder of the year following season-ending hip surgery.
Chapman hadn\'t played since Sept. 6 because of hip tendinitis.
In 152 plate appearances this season, Chapman hit .232/.276/.535 with 10 home runs and above-average defense.
