I'd easily choose PJ over Miles. He's the superior defender, he's bigger and longer, he picks his spots on offense better, and he's a slightly better passer. He's too well-rounded and versatile to consider moving, he's a keeper for sure.

PJ has some small-ball center potential as well. But Miles has more pure athleticism. If Miles can develop his skills he has an advantage there. At any rate, I don't think the front office is in a hurry to move either of them. And maybe someone like Avdija depending on how he develops, presses the matter.

He's saying playoffs. Confident young man.

It's possible. The Hornets blew expectations out of the water this season, they were of course super-low expectations but still...

I think it will be a tall order but who knows? It all depends on how much player development occurred for our young guys during the pandemic period, if Miles/PJ/Martin 1+2/McDaniels look as good as they did at the end of last year or better that will be a big help.

The other thing that could help us, and really every team that either wasn't in the bubble or got knocked out quick, is a lot of these playoff squads are going to be dead tired if the league really starts up again by Dec/Jan.

I mean there is a very easy way to the playoffs next year. Trading Batum + Zeller for C. Paul or R. Westbrook. Either can play with Graham. Just a matter of if its worth paying the big money 2 years from now.

Don't know how anyone could want Westbrook after these past few years. Chris Paul can take his contagious choking elsewhere too.

Taking advantage of Houston's panic moves would be awesome. I'll admit there is definite risk in trading for Westbrook, but I'd love to do it.

For once in our team's history can we not speak acquiring aging overpaid/overrated veterans into existence? This board is more terrified of draft picks than bad contracts and it makes zero sense when the "It couldn't hurt" acquisitions and signings have done more to lock us into bottom tier hoops than anything else.

There isn't a single player on Houston's roster that we should be looking at. Not one.

Bingo. Let's just sit back and laugh at Houston for the next 5 years. They have absolutely nothing that we would want.

Awesome that PJ made all rookie team, could make argument he deserved first team.

Herro made second team as well. How many would trade PJ for Herro today?

PJ got robbed. He definitely had a better season than Paschall. Unless they don't count defense?

I wouldn't trade PJ for Herro. They are pretty close, but I see PJ as a better all around player that can be a nice piece in a rebuild. Herro has a solid 3, not much else.

Probably. Contributor on a better team. Stats similar in less minutes.

I think you could realistically argue for PJ being anywhere from the 4th to 7th best rookie last year

I like PJ but would trade him in a second for Herro or Clarke. They've been better players and Herro is showing a lot more upside if he can be a primary creator type. He's a guy who should be watching as much of Devin Booker as possible.

Clarke isn't nearly the shooter PJ is but he's so damn efficient inside. He's definitely better than PJ right now, probably better on defense as well. He looks the part. Only downside is he turns 24 in a few days. PJ is freshly 22 years old, and it would be slightly disappointing if PJ isn't as good as rookie Clarke in his 3rd-4th seasons.

Herro seems to have "it" as a shooter. I have a very hard time believing in him as a #1 option, but he'll be a terrific #2 or #3 someday. I'm amazed at how clutch he is at age 20. He'll have a better career than PJ I think.

I would not trade Washington for either player, Washington has more potential. But I love Herro a lot. He's in a great situation

I wouldn't trade PJ for either player, but I would think long and hard about Herro. It comes down to my uncertainty of how Herro would play outside Miami, that team really puts all their guys in ideal spots to shine so I'm not so sure he'd look as great on a mediocre or bad team like ours. They're both going to be great players in the league, no doubt. Clarke is also excellent but as others noted he's 24 so probably closer to his peak than PJ/Herro.

Eh I feel like if you swapped PJ and Herro, Washington would be a monster in Miami right now
