Chris Haynes: Doc Rivers will be back next year coaching the Clippers

Post#1 » by OkcSinceSGA » Wed Sep 16, 2020 6:02 pm

Kawhi is a much worse GM than Lebron apparently. This is going to be brutal. Likely means Kawhi's last prime years wasted in the Clippers curse.

Raptors fans please be merciful. We will give you Kawhi back in exchange for Nick Nurse. Maybe just give us Pascal+Boucher and I'll take it on the chin.

The players have to be held accountable as well though. 2 HOF players cannot play the way they did in the second half. Thats not on the coach to me. I dont think Doc is the biggest problem.

Why didn’t he go to the 4 forward & Beverly or Lou lineup faster in game 7?

PG is a mental cancer. To hear him flip flop so much is disgusting. Now I know why Lakers fans called him out so much for being a frontrunner and fraud. In June "We came here expecting to win championships immediately". In September "We don't see it as championship or bust". Could you imagine Jordan, Kobe, Duncan, Magic, Bird etc ever uttering those words!? Like do you think title windows are forever? The Warriors will be back in the mix this year too ffs! This was THE best chance.

If you're a winner EVERY **** year is championship or bust! No exceptions!

Blame the coach all you want, but you had a lead in the 3rd and your stars disappeared. We knew about PG, but Kawhi really faded in the 2nd half this whole series. 4/22 is not gonna cut it from your best player in the 2nd half of game 6 and 7

I wonder what Stephen A. Smith has to say on why a competent coach like David Blatt gets canned while Doc Rivers keeps his job while performing much worse..

The guy clearly does not comprehend what the team gave up to get him. When you ship out all your draft picks and swaps, it is obviously championship or bust.

I agree the players ultimately have the choice to play right etc, but if you look at the habits of Doc coached teams the last 7 years here or whatever.. it's always the same, no matter the personnel. At some point you have to wonder what the problem with his leadership/strategy is. This team was supposed to be the gritty ANTI Hollywood/entitled team. Instead they once again BECAME the entitled punk team as Lob City did.

A good coach makes adjustments when things aren't working. A good coach has an effective offensive system in place.

Looks like a great move for the relevant team in LA.

Well, if they’re keeping Doc the front office needs to force his hand by getting rid of Lou and Trez. Doc can’t be trusted to limit those guys to their proper roles.

sure, but a coach cant play for the players. These dudes scored 2 points in the first 6 minutes of the 4th quarter on what was a majority of good shots. Very good looks for very good shooters; it was good offense, they just missed. Doc cant shoot for them boys. He cant make PG stop shaking in his boots. He cant make Kawhi, in argument for best player in the league, look downright bad.

Doc got his problems, and he did cost them this series in earlier games by playing Harrell wayyy too much. But game 7 is on the players

Yep. The FO has had to do things like this before to pull rug under Doc. Such as forcing a Bradley and Rivers trade when Doc didn't want to.

Clippers will never win a championship until they get rid of Rivers
