Kawhi Regret Leaving?

Post#1 » by jerok » Wed Sep 16, 2020 7:18 pm

I know he is a cyborg, no emotions.
But do you guys think he regrets leaving the raptors? Just a little bit?

I don’t think he does. His decision was more than just basketball related. People forget kawhi has 2 rings already. For all we know this is the happiest he’s been off the court. Sure covid popped up and he was in the bubble away from his family but for a guy that left 2 Championship level teams to get home it’s clear he cares more about being close to his family. Who knows how much money he’s also making from his dealings with the Clippers owner aside from his contract that the NBA don’t know about. You guys want him to care but I don’t think he cares as much as you guys think cares. He passed on 2 champion level teams for a bigger reason.

As Kawhi's playoffs 2nd banana:

Siakam: 19.0pts (54.0ts%), 7.1rb, 2.8ast/1.4to, 1.7bk+st, 17.2per, 2.6bpm
George: 20.2pts (53.6ts%), 5.9rb, 3.7ast/3.0to, 1.9bk+st, 14.8per, 0.4bpm

His decision was personal, he simply wanted to go home, even though everyone was telling him that staying in Toronto would have been THE better move for his Professional Career. You really cant fault a guy who basically chose his heart over his head.

In hindsight, I really do think he misses his teammates in Toronto than in LA, he got along with them better, and had close friends here. I dont know how many close relationships that he made on the Clippers, as im not even hearing about him bonding.

No, him and dennis are set for life because of the under-the-table deal they pulled off with Ballmer.

No, he chose money and real estate given in a shady deal. More power to him but it is what it is.

Didn't he leave a lot of money on a table because Raps could offer him a bigger contract?

not really, he lost the most money because of leaving San Antonio. The amount he lost leaving our team was marginal in comparison (and he signed for fewer years anyways to maintain his own flexibility).

I guess Steve baller told him and Dennis a lot of under table stock deals, there is a good way to make money with the stock market this year, just look at the Tesla and all the tech stocks, if he got some insider’s information, he can easily double his net worth in months. STEVE baller is worth 70 billion now

I bet he misses the locker room atmosphere and on-court chemistry but that’s about it. Doubt he bonded too much with the guys outside of the arena other than team dinners (maybe with Lowry a bit).

We all know Ballmer and Uncle Dennis had money under the table involved. It would be surprising if they didn’t.

He probably does regret leaving, but he will never admit it.

Think of the teammates Kawhi liked chilling with, Lowry/Norm/Serge. Compare that to Beverley/Harrell/Morris. Lol a guy like Kawhi with his personality probably went straight to his hotel room, rather than team bonding with those loud mouths

considering the pandemic and everyone being in Orlando anyways, I'm sure in hindsight he regrets not signing for 1 more year.

Should've run it back 1 more year, at least defend your crown fam!

I also think he prefers the low drama of his raptor teammates over Pat bev, Lou will, etc.

I don't think he regrets it ... but wouldn't it be great if he did?

Probably not, he left because he wanted to play in LA and had nothing to do with the organizaion. Don't think he would regret it even if the Clippers went 0-82, he's made it known for a long time he wanted to play in LA.

I didn't even think of this one bit.
Maybe he resigns if he knew he was gonna be in a bubble for 3 months.
