Nick Wright said Tatum wasn’t a star (even though he made the all star team and probably will make all nba this year). Nick wright also said he was a top 16-27 player in the league.

Now he’s suddenly “not a top 10 guy” as if that was his original argument. He got you guys all **** up like Kellerman and the cliff
I've never said Tatum was top 10. And spent most the season thinking he was top 20 who improved to top 15-12. I have no idea what Nick Wright said.

I didn’t say you called him a top 10 guy :-?

All I said was you guys are giving into his moving goalposts and his obvious bait

I'm not. I don't even know what he's said. The only sports show I watch is inside the NBA because Chuck and Shaq are hilarious

Weird stat, but okay.

So that game-winning three attempt he took in game 1 was a good shot for him?

I think it’s got to the point where it’s actually a good shot for Tatum. If he was 1 foot closer it would’ve been all net.

Yep, that would be my only complaint. If he was a step closer, we win that game. Moving forward, I think he could work on his range and having a quicker release. It could open up his driving game even more if he was a threat from a farther distance.

So apparently Tatum is routinely in touch with Kyrie? He's telling him Brad is holding him back? Lol

Tampering already?

Tatum finished 12th in MVP voting. One 5th place vote. Siakam and Butler ahead of him.

most of Tatum's production is created by himself. Do you ever see a play designed for Tatum where he isn't forced to go one on one? But that's the way of the NBA nowadays. It's illegal moving screen at the top of the key which results in a PnR or mismatch on a switch. Followed by dribble dribble drive or dribble dribble step back/side for a three if it's a big switched on him or posting up if it's a small then passing when the resulting double team comes. It's what Tatum, Harden, Lebron, Luka and every other #1 ball handler in the league does most of the time. It's boring. But this is the NBA now so you better learn to love it. Does Tatum want more of this? Probably. Most of these players aren't really interested in being team players, they want the ball in their hands and to be thought of as responsible for the success of their offense. It'd be great if he wanted more off ball movement instead of sitting outside the three point line like Jaylen and the others do when someone else has the ball. But that's why Brad is a system coach and that's what the system calls for. So maybe he's sick of the system? If true I wouldn't blame him.

Kyrie is a moron. Holding him back? He just had the best season of his career so far and is the dog on an ECF team while kyrie is sitting at home because hes a little bitch.

He needs to tighten his handles and learn to finish better. Attack the rim more frequently. He's young and as long as he adds to his game, he'll be pretty darn good.

Not a disaster. But it's still disappointing to not make it through to the Finals, if we indeed lose to Miami. It's not like the Heat are a juggernaut. Then anything can happen against LAL/DEN.

There are no longer extended windows in today's NBA. Stars get injured. Franchise guys demand trades or jump ship as soon as they're able. If you have a shot at a title for any particular year, you gotta take it. Personally for me, there's no planning for three to five years into the future 'cos you can't control most of the things that happen. The time is now. John Wick's tat said it best...

With JT's improved play-making.. he is becoming a way more complete player than what Kawhi is.. Still needs to finish better and continue to get stronger (see Giannis) but damn he is set for a top 5 player in the NA for many years if he does that.

You know the sky’s the limit when he has a 25/14/8 game & no one is talking about it.

Larry Bird wasn't putting up these numbers in the NBA playoffs when he was 22. 'Cos he was still in college. :P

I was getting worried about his relutance to shoot off the catch. But he hit a couple tonight. It will literally be impossible to zone us if he would do this consistently. He fills the holes in his game on a monthly basis which is insane.
I apologize for the things I have said in the past.

These two tweets really put in perspective the level at which he is playing.

It's almost unfair to demand near-perfection from Tatum but if he's to lead this team to greater heights, he has to value each and every possession no matter what the scoreboard says. Ball was moving early in the 4th and Cs were getting great looks. Hayward 3, Tatum 3, Tatum layup... all off ball movement. Then he suddenly decides to iso on Bam... offensive foul/turnover. His next possession, he hunts for a mismatch on Robinson but settles for contested midrange... miss. His next possession, he isos on Jimmy who blocks/steals the ball... turnover.

For the next few minutes, we were able to hold on to the lead but eventually our pace/approach changed (settling for isos and passing up top without penetration) and Miami crept back in, whittling down the lead to 5 points. He also missed a boxout off a FT miss and lost Robinson for a corner three. Also let Herro blow him by and score on a layup OFF A MADE BASKET.

Just can't relax against a no-quit team. Already gave away two games because of it.
