Reports say that Brad Stevens didn’t intervene and just stared into space as the events unfolded.
Bum.
Um bummer maybe, but he's a top coach in the league regardless.

No, he is not. He's had the same time Brett Brown had in 76ers ever since both processes ended and he achieved nothing. Is he a top coach for beating bums like Wizards, Pacers, Magic, the failures Phily and the weakened Raptors?
With the talent they have Celtics underachieved badly. Why should we give this guy credit for the good job Danny Eindge has done?

How have they underachieved? Not many people saw a 20PPG scorer in Brown coming out, and definitely not this quickly. No one expected Tatum to be this good this quickly, a lot of that credit goes to Stevens and his staff. He's dealt with catastrophic injuries and helped his team improve year after year.
Too bad for all the good Ainge* has done, he hasn't found Stevens a reliable rim protector.

Are we sure about that?
When Brown was scoring in lower numbers, all that got mentioned was he was a great athlete and needed time to develop.
He got time, and developed.
Kudos for the Celts for being patient and doing it, but he was drafted 3rd overall for a reason.

It was kind of seen as a bit of a reach at the time
Not a huge one, but he could've gone anywhere from 3 to 7 or 8 as the draft class was seen as pretty weak after Simmons/Ingram
Wasn't like how last year RJ was absolutely going 3rd if Memphis took Morant 2nd, it was like how De'Andre Hunter went 4th though you could've made the case for anyone in the rest of the top 10 to go there at the time.

[Woj] At one point, sources said, Smart turned to Jaylen Brown and screamed, "You (bleeping) need me. You can't win without me." Smart left teammates and coaches largely speechless. He dominated the locker room in every way. Marcus is back

Interesting. This can't have just suddenly sprung up and sounds like it's been brewing for some time.
