JONATHAN TAYLOR
RB, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Colts coach Frank Reich said Jonathan Taylor will be the starter at running back moving forward.

He'll replace Marlon Mack, who the Colts will soon move to season-ending injured reserve with a torn Achilles'. Reich also said Nyheim Hines will still be "a big part of the offense" and Jordan Wilkins will also "have a role." Hines and Taylor split snaps (20) in the second half without Mack on Sunday and are both expected to stay heavily involved as early as Week 2 against the Vikings. Hines should be a priority addition on waiver wires whereas Taylor remains poised to explode as a low-end RB1 for the rest of the season.

Couple of rough drops over the middle for Jerry Jeudy.

I thought Andrew Thomas did well for himself considering the tough match in his first NFL game.

TEE HIGGINS
WR, CINCINNATI BENGALS

Tee Higgins played 15-of-68 snaps (22 percent) in Week 1 against the Chargers.

He wasn’t targeted in a loss to the Chargers. Higgins looked behind John Ross, Auden Tate, and Mike Thomas. A hamstring injury slowed Higgins in Bengals camp, but his role should grow as the season moves along

BRYAN EDWARDS
WR, LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

Bryan Edwards played 47-of-63 snaps (75 percent) in Week 1 against the Panthers.

The snaps were a team high, with Henry Ruggs (67%) coming in behind Edwards. Edwards didn’t live up to the hype in Week 1, turning his lone target into nine yards. It’s worth noting Edwards was listed with a knee injury and didn’t look 100 percent after a third quarter hit. Edwards playing a near every-down role and starting in base sets is encouraging for his ROS outlook.

CEEDEE LAMB
WR, DALLAS COWBOYS

CeeDee Lamb played 59-of-72 snaps (82 percent) in Week 1 against the Rams.

Lamb rarely left the field in the Cowboys' three-wide base offense. He repped from the slot and saw six targets with Jalen Ramsey taking away Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup on the outside. Lamb’s role is trending up with Blake Jarwin (ACL, IR) out for the season. He gets a matchup with a Falcons secondary that was shredded for 322 yards and four touchdowns by Russell Wilson in Week 1.

JAMES ROBINSON
RB, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

James Robinson played 34-of-50 snaps (68 percent) in Week 1 against the Colts.

Chris Thompson played just 12 snaps. The Jaguars featured Robinson early, running on five of the first six plays. It’s clear Jacksonville views Robinson as a workhorse, as no other running back had a carry. Robinson has a Week 2 matchup with a Titans defense that allowed 5.2 YPC and a touchdown to Melvin Gordon.

ANTONIO GIBSON
RB, WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM

Antonio Gibson played 18-of-70 snaps (26 percent) in Week 1 against the Eagles.

Gibson started, but was outsnapped by Peyton Barber (29) and J.D. McKissic (31). He also saw five fewer touches than Barber, but this was a promising debut for Gibson, who led the team with 36 rushing yards. Washington upset the Eagles in Week 1, but Gibson’s role should lead to higher snap rates in more negative gamescripts.

DENZEL MIMS
WR, NEW YORK JETS

Jets placed WR Denzel Mims (hamstrings) on injured reserve.

The Jets tried to wait things out with their second-round rookie but then he injured his other hamstring. He will now be ineligible to play before Week 5 against the Cardinals. SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reports the team is "worried the rookie will be a non-factor for the first half of the season, at least, even if he returns sooner." Yikes. It's only Week 2, but a full-blown dumpster fire appears to be breaking out in Florham Park.

KJ HAMLER
WR, DENVER BRONCOS

Broncos coach Vic Fangio expects KJ Hamler (hamstring) to practice in full for Week 2 against the Steelers.

Hamler was almost ready to go for Monday's opener against the Titans, but the Broncos decided to exercise extreme caution, even with Courtland Sutton (shoulder) sidelined. Hamler is oozing with big-play upside, but his NFL debut could scarcely be coming in a tougher matchup. He will be best left on benches in 12-14 team re-draft leagues.

QUINTEZ CEPHUS
WR, DETROIT LIONS

Quintez Cephus is expected to “get a lot of playing time” in Week 2 against the Packers.

Cephus started and had a team-high 10 targets on a 79% snap rate with Kenny Golladay (hamstring) out last week. He caught just three of those passes and his targets seem likely to go down, but Cephus is going to play a lot in what projects as a high-scoring game. Cephus is a plug-in WR4 and DFS punt play.

HARRISON BRYANT
TE, CLEVELAND BROWNS

Browns TE Harrison Bryant played 30-of-58 snaps (52 percent) in Week 2 against the Bengals.

Bryant had a higher snap share with David Njoku (knee) on IR. He was still held to just one catch on two targets. The Browns haven’t featured their tight ends despite running more 12 personnel this season, but Bryant is locked into the No. 2 role.

HUNTER BRYANT
TE, DETROIT LIONS

Lions TE Hunter Bryant (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 2.

He’ll miss his second straight game. Bryant got in a limited practice Friday — his first since getting shut down in late August. He's on track for a Week 3 return.

JUSTIN JEFFERSON
WR, MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Justin Jefferson caught 3-of-3 targets for 44 yards in the Vikings' Week 2 loss to the Colts.

Jefferson, embarrassingly, led the Vikings in receiving yards, but Adam Thielen and Irv Smith both drew more looks. It was in no way a noteworthy performance. Playing in an offense low on overall weapons, Jefferson is not going to be in position for easy receptions. He has little path to re-draft relevance in 12-team leagues.

J.K. DOBBINS
RB, BALTIMORE RAVENS

J.K. Dobbins rushed two times for 48 yards, catching one ball for 13 yards in Baltimore's Week 2 win over the Texans.

Dobbins was out-carried 10 to 2 by Gus Edwards and 9 to 2 from Mark Ingram but still averaged 20.3 yards per touch on his limited work. His lone highlight was a 44-yard sprint up the middle as Baltimore simply gashed Houston to cruise to 2-0 on the season. We expect Dobbins to be used more as a thin FLEX play in Baltimore's Week 3 showdown against the Chiefs.

CLYDE EDWARDS-HELAIRE
RB, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed 10 times for 38 yards and caught 6-of-8 targets for 32 yards in the Chiefs' Week 2 overtime win over the Chargers.

Edwards-Helaire was far more involved as a receiver out of the backfield in Week 2, particularly late in the game during Patrick Mahomes' comeback victory. Part of that was to beat the Chargers' zone defense. Part of that was because Darrel Williams left with an ankle injury. Either way, it's good news for CEH after surprisingly going catchless in the season opener. The Chiefs offense likely rebounds after this rare 23-point performance in Week 3 when they face the Ravens in what could be the game of the regular season. Edwards-Helaire doesn't have a great individual matchup then but remains a locked-in RB1 with talent, touches, and team on his side.

JUSTIN HERBERT
QB, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Justin Herbert completed 22-of-33 passes for 311 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Chargers' Week 2 overtime loss to the Chiefs, adding 18 yards and a score as a rusher.

Tyrod Taylor suffered a chest injury during pregame warmups, thrusting first-round rookie Herbert into the starting lineup on zero notice. For someone who didn't work with the first-team offense leading into the game, Herbert looked promising. The ball leaves his hand with zip, and he offers scrambling ability, which is how he scored his first career touchdown. Herbert certainly has the tools to be a franchise quarterback if he can limit his mistakes. A bad cross-body interception was one of his few errors against the Super Bowl-defending Chiefs. We'd bet Herbert starts the rest of the season barring injury or chaos. He deserves extended looks after Week 2's performance. Herbert has QB2 appeal against the Panthers next week.

MYLES GASKIN
RB, MIAMI DOLPHINS

Myles Gaskin rushed seven times for 36 yards, hauling in 6-of-7 targets for 36 yards in Miami's Week 2 loss to the Bills.

Dolphins OC Chan Gailey mentioned that Gaskin only led the team's backfield in Week 1 because he's Miami's de facto runner from the spread offense, but Gaskin (13 touches) again out-touched Matt Breida (8) and Jordan Howard (5) for the second consecutive game. Gaskin also showed he has a floor in PPR leagues, finishing third in catches (6) among the Dolphins' receivers. With a tantalizing matchup against the Jaguars in Week 3, Gaskin should arguably become a top priority for those who lost running backs due to injury this week.

ANTONIO GIBSON
RB, WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM

Antonio Gibson rushed 13 times for 55 yards and a touchdown in Washington's Week 2 loss to the Cardinals, adding a reception for -1 yard.

Gibson led the Football Team in rushing attempts, averaging 4.2 yards per carry and getting goal line work on his way to his first pro touchdown. Washington ditched the run in the fourth quarter. Washington offensive coordinator Scott Turner talked last week about slowly integrating the rookie into the offense, and we saw another step for Gibson Sunday against Arizona. Fantasy players should be increasingly confident in deploying Gibson as a weekly flex play. He has an OK Week 3 matchup against the Browns.

KJ HAMLER
WR, DENVER BRONCOS

KJ Hamler caught 3-of-7 targets for 48 yards in the Broncos' Week 2 loss to the Steelers.

Hamler saw a surprising number of targets in his first action of the season, mostly playing out of the slot in the Broncos' pass-heavy second half. Hamler is worth a stash in deeper leagues with multiple flex spots. The Broncos could be forced to throw plenty in negative game flow after losing Drew Lock and Courtland Sutton to injuries.
