I honestly wonder sometimes how much of dentistry is just upselling unnecessary procedures.

The wildcard you may want to consider is COVID. I had a root canal back in March with a temporary filling put in. The problem was, because of COVID my dentist delayed putting the crown on until June. I spent 3 months chewing on the opposite side of my mouth to avoid damaging the filling.

If we have a flare up of cases this winter, it may be tough to get it taken care of if you choose to do it then. If you're leery of your dentist, some places offer free 2nd opinions.

I have thought the same thing. I had a similar experience. I had a dentist in Cudahy tell me that I need a crown, and since we had used up our insurance allotment - I was going to have to pay over $1,500 to get it done.

My wife and I were planning a trip to Belarus and I decided I would just do it over there and get like a 90% discount. When I got to the dentist, he did an exam on me. I didn't tell him I was interested in a crown because I wanted to see what he said. He didn't even mention the tooth in question. After he said everything was ok, I asked him about the tooth in question - he said it was fine. No big deal. I debated on if I should just tell him and get it done, but i was sorta sketched out on the dentist so I didn't do it.

A year later I went to a different dentist office, and right away she told me I needed to get a crown. I think dentists over here are just more aggressive with treatment. I ended up getting it done.

Could be a combination of both aggressive American dentists and laissez-faire European dentists. I recall reading an article or blog by an American dentist whose mother lived in England. The mother came to the US for a visit, and the daughter was horrified by some of the things that were left untreated by her mother's dentist.

Same with Aussie dentists, they were pushing me to do some $10k job (I can't remember what it was called exactly, some complicated root canal that requires microscopes)
I said yeah ok I'll let you know and just waited for my annual holiday to Greece as always. Greek doctor said it was up to me to do it (for $1.5k) but the chances of succeeding long term are not much higher than not doing anything and end up having no problems.
I didn't do anything, 5 years later the tooth is still fine (knock on wood)

On the other hand Greek doctors are ready to give antibiotics to anyone, a little too ready in my opinion. In fact you can just get them at the pharmacy without prescription.

Generally Greece is a whole different world in the medical field. For example people don't go to the GP to refer them to a specialist, they just go to the specialist directly. Your kid has a fever? Off to the pediatrician. Dry skin? Dermatologist. Etc.
Funny enough it works well, considered to be a healthy country with high life expectancy (despite all the smoking everywhere)

He's unreal, idk if I want to see him at 185 or 170 more though. He's got a big frame and is only 26, a bit of bulking up and he could commit to 185 full time. That said I don't think the cut to 170 is hard at all for him, in which case he can absolutely rag doll dudes there. And if he beats Maia next he'd be in the top 7 and basically 2 fights from a title shot.

If you didn't meet her somewhere east of the Bialystok/Rzeszow line, I am thoroughly disappointed :)

Feels like he has a better shot at a 170 title shot. 185 at the top has killers up and down while 170 has snoozeman and Colby. When he puts Maia to sleep if they still make that fight you maybe look at a Leon Edwards at 170 or wonderboy. At 185 either of the killer gorillas would be a great fight.

I picked up a Camp Chef pellet smoker two weeks ago and I’m thinking this is going to be a nice investment. I’ve done pulled pork, baby back ribs, and chicken thighs so far and they’ve all turned out pretty damn good. There are tweaks I’ll be making for each as I learn more, but it’s awesome to sit in your garage with a beer and stare at a smoker for hours at a time. Next up will be Turkey Legs and eventually I’ll work my way up to brisket once I’m confident enough to drop that kind of coin.

Had to see what all the hype was about and the pandemic is all about trying new things, so I finally had a peanut, butter and jelly sandwich.

Wasn't really hitting, tho. Maybe I was off on proportions, got the wrong brand of peanuts, I dunno. Some dishes are better left to the experts like Guy Ferry and whatnot is my takeaway. My kitchen is not Flavored Town.

Was the peanut butter on the top piece of bread or the bottom piece? That makes a difference.

Also, did you put both toppings on the same piece and then put a bare piece on top of them? Could also mess with the mojo.

Had no jelly nor jam, so I substituted mayo. Shouldn't affect overall experience. imo

Most likely too many peanuts and not enough butter and jelly.
