What am I doing...? Uh, nothing much, I'm just sitting here, bored, waiting to draft Killian Hayes.

Better than that other PG prospect. Killian has size, skill, athleticism. I hear he's very one handed though.

Yeah he is but I don't think he's that one handed actually. I think its that hes a lefty and more of a coast to coast/dribbling lefty unlike Harden who is more of a break you down off the dribble lefty that makes it appear that he has zero right hand. Can he improve/should improve on his right hand...? Probably, but I don't think it's as bad as some might think.

While playing for Ulm in the EuroCup and German BBL, Hayes shot a lowly 29 percent on 3-pointers. At first glance, and also the second and third glances, that’s bad. But, his shot chart (per NBA.com) tells a bit of a different story.

Image

The only areas where Hayes is a “bad shooter” are the right wing, left wing, and left corner, and even from those areas, he’s a solid off-the-dribble shooter. Even on a high volume of mostly pull-up shots, he’s a 40 percent shooter from above the break (the hardest area to shoot from).

I just realized Hayes wasn't really that far away from a 50/40/90 season this year

I like him. I think out of the "consensus" top 3 Hayes and Okongwu are the two I like the most.

I love Hayes. He would play so well with Graham. Its Hayes/Okongwu for me.

I'd be happy with either!

Hayes could really benefit playing next to Graham. More so than almost any of the other top guys.

SInce I am almost sure we are gonna draft Hayes. Here are a couple of names I thought about for his thread.

The Chef Left Sir - The Killian Isaac Hayes Thread

Sir Chef Left - The Killian Isaac Hayes Thread

Sir CheF-Ty Left 3 - The Killian Isaac Hayes thread

The Chef Left At 3 Sir - The Killian Isaac Hayes Thread

It's a combination of Sir Isaac Newton and Isaac Hayes "chef" Charactor, and he's left handed and he was the third pick

Hayes said his agent has projected him to be drafted between Nos. 2 and 8 or 10 in this draft, though it seems unlikely he could get past Detroit at No. 7.

"It's going well," Hayes said about the Combine process. "(Teams are) trying to figure out who I am as a person. I am grateful for every interview, for a team taking interest in me. I never take it for granted. Now I am just trying to focus on my workouts. I'm working on everything, especially my body because everyone knows the NBA has the best athletes in the world.

"I was the main point guard (playing in Germany last season)," Hayes said. "I had to call out every play. So now that's why I am working on coming off screens, being able to catch and shoot, being in the right position, always moving around on the court. I can play the one or the two; it doesn't really matter. I can be effective at both positions. This year I really felt comfortable at the point guard position. Defensively, I can guard all three positions. It's all about coming in and being hungry on the defensive end. I feel I can guard one through three.

"(My) strength obviously is going left and scoring at all three levels even though I can be a lot more consistent from the three," Hayes admitted. "Also my court vision where I can read the game. Stuff I can work on? Defensively, not falling asleep on back door. It's been better during the season, but my turnover rate (can improve) as I was making a lot of turnovers and I feel throughout the season that number went down."

Hayes seems like such a solid pick. Even if he doesn't have the highest upside it would be nice to get another dude who is just good at basketball.

Yeah, hard to see him being a bust. Solid work ethic, pro experience, competes on both ends. I'd be fine with him at 3 if that's what Mitch thinks is best, he's one of the guys projected in the 4-7 range (along with Halliburton and OO) who I think might end up being best in class.

Even though I don't really see it with this guy, I find it hard to believe he'd be anything other than a quality player. Wouldn't pull my hair out if we took him at 3 either.

I don't hate Killian, but I'm less sold on him than I am on Haliburton.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
