Not only Ja Morant, but also guys such as Melton, Tyus Jones, Grayson Allen are behind MEM success. Not sure if we can pry Melton from them, but we need to build our bench as well.

Melton is rfa or unrestricted this year? If say some of the other G's moved or consolidated to other parts...say longer wings...then he definitely makes sense...maybe a cheaper Okogie option (not that Okogie is expensive but could he be turned to a different piece)?

Norseman79 wrote:Figured since we have a draft and a trade thread, might as well throw in a free agent thread. Who do you guys like? What do we have to spend? Given what we see in the draft, what players in free agency would mesh with what we need?

Discussion question, could we go after a Max player?

We have no money to spend. Up against Cap or over idk. Then there is Covid causing everyone to be broke. League might have to drop cap or freeze it. Otherwise, maybe sign our guys we have and get ready to offer some picks and recently signed lpayers for Giannis.

Giannis has declared he wants to stay in Milwaukee.

Excerpt from SI article
After the Bucks' recent 4–1 exit to the Heat in the Eastern Conference semifinals, he was asked about his future with Milwaukee and whether he might request a trade.

“It’s not happening. That’s not happening," the 2018–19 league MVP told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes when asked whether he would ask for a trade if he couldn't reach a contract extension with the Bucks.

Here's the link which includes a lot more details.

The only problem is that the notice comes from Marca, a click bait sports newspaper. Although I would like to see him there.

If it's true about the Wolves and Campazzo, does it have any impact on the Wolves deciding between Ball and Edwards?

I ask because with his age, role, and contract situation, he would need to be seen as someone in the rotation.

Good point. If we were to draft Ball signing Campazzo FA makes no sense whatsoever.

Been harping on getting Derrick Jones Jr for a while. For everyone who wants Jeremi Grant, getting DJJ is a lot like getting a younger less proven version of that player. If they can develop him even further he would be new perfect here.

What interests you about him enough to harp about the option? Just wondering.
I see a 4th year player still shooting 3s below 30%.(.282) And FT% below 70% (.690), rebounding less than 4/g. Is there something he is great at or would make click here?

Less than 4 boards per game in less than 20 minutes for his career.

Only turned 23 in February. He is a better rebounder than Grant, averaged 77.2% FT this year, 2FG% of 67.7% this year, he has posted a positive DBPM the past 2 years, a positive BPM this year, and a positive VORP. One of the best lob targets in the league, switchable defender, who benefits from being around shooters.

Between Grant’s rookie year until the 2017-18 season when he was 23 Grant was a career 30.1% 3pt shooter, 64.1% FT shooter, averaged 3.6 boards/.5 stls/1.2blocks in 21.9 minutes

If this team wants versatile young forwards who can defend multiple positions with potential to grow there probably isn’t one available at this cost and he is already contributing on a playoff team.

We constantly talk about how other teams get young players out of free agency that all of a sudden become impact players. This is one of the most obvious example of getting a young impact role player before he plays too well to be able to trade for.

Why does it always seem like ALL you do is look at stats and boxscores and not actual games?
