Hold on tight. Nothing is impossible.

Like...why does he bring it down so low after the catch? That shot form will never work in a catch and shoot capacity in real games with defenders closing out. It takes too long and it comes from too far down below.

He needs to learn to catch it at chest level and keep it from dipping so low before going back up.

Not necessarily. There a lot of great shooters that dip the ball real low to get their rhythm. The one that jumps to mind is Dame. He doesn't do it on every shot and I don't think he does it in stationary practice but when Dame is on the move and he is lining up a bomb he dips the ball pretty low sometimes. His dip is much faster but you can see it on the shot that banished Pandemic P to the negative zone. When he hops to his right, the ball is below his waist. Obviously Lonzo =/= Dame but it isn't a completely concerning development.

I can remember this off the top of my head, it probably has nothing to do with the fact that all we have done for the last 7 years is watch second by second youtube clips of players shooting form because the team we follow keeps drafting players unable to perform the most fundamental aspect of the game of basketball...
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Well, on a catch and shoot scenario, dipping it that low, and going that slow, will simply give the defender enough time to close out.

If its off the dribble, or a step back thats different.

But catch and shoot guys are typically quicker and don't dip as low.

If we needed any more proof of how terrible our last offseason was and how clueless our FO is, Jimmy Buckets has made the NBA Finals.

Yeah, that's not really that big of an issue. The fact that people will run out to his shot at all is a blessing that not many thought would happen. He's got the handles to drive past that closeout and get another shot or make a play. That's a bigger issue for catch and shoot only players like Danny Green (not that he has that issue,). Like Rajon, this is good enough.

Lonzo just needs to push the pace more, and look for scoring opportunities more in the paint off of closeouts and screens. His 3pt shooting was fine this year... 37.5% on 6 attempts. That's exactly what you want... him to be efficient and willing to take them (which has never been an issue). I'd say he just needs to be able to find 5 more 2pt shots for himself in some way.

Which NBA team says no?

Philadelphia 76ers get Chris Paul, Omari Spellman, Jacob Evans & 1st overall draft pick.

Minnesota Timberwolves get Ben Simmons & 21st draft pick.

OKC Thunder get Jarrett Culver, Josh Richardson, James Johnson & the 17th Pick.

Chris Paul with Embiid makes Philly a serious title contender right now and they get their choice of the 1st overall pick.

Paul is a better floor general than Ben and can score at the rim, midrange and 3.

The idea for us if to trade for Paul with the Horford contract. Giving Ben up for and old cp3 well although still productive would be a horrible trade. Ben would also be able to get you Booker or Beal, so why undersell?

Paul already has the relationship with Doc. His pick and roll with Embiid would be the best in the league. Unstoppable. They would make the finals next year in the East.

Then with the number 1 overall pick, you could go Anthony Edwards for the future Shooting guard or could even go Lamelo Ball to run the second unit and take over when Paul’s contract is out.

You can get Chris Paul without giving up Ben Simmons.

Yeah tuff sell .....
Most of the posters in hear want to continue bitching about Ben's shooting and what's not , but are scared to send him away for fear of him turning into Lebron.

Embiid requests a trade immediately after that trade is processed

This is how you do it.

Sixers trades that number 1 overall pick and Horford for Bradley Beal.

CP3
Bradley Beal
Thybulle?
Tobias Harris
Embiid

I think that can work.

Full list of players who were 1st team all-defense and at least 3rd team all-NBA as 24 years old or younger (from 1975 on) :

Lebron
Kobe
Duncan
KG
Hakeem
Giannis
Kawhi
Chris Paul
Dwight
Paul George
Gobert
Ron Artest

So yeah, maybe a few outliers at the bottom, but that doesn't seem like the kind of players you trade when they're 24.

Actually it's not a bad trade if you can package the 1st pick and maybe something else for another great player, like the Beal trade idea.I would definetively consider it.

Chris Paul has had a lot of success playing with two bigs.

He did it in La with Deandre Jordan and Blake Griffin.

He did it in New Orleans with Tyson Chandler and David West.

Now he can do it again with Embiid and Horford. But you also have a realizable 3rd option in Tobias Harris who excelled under Doc.

Now you also have the 1st pick in the draft which could be used for any player you want, Lamelo, Edwards, Wiseman or Deni.

Sixers would actually be a title contender instead of getting swept in the first round.
