Klay Thompson the Living Legend

Post#1 » by Little Digger » Sat Oct 3, 2020 7:25 am

Bird not only spoke of his time on the Celtics, but what he thinks of the current state of the NBA. While the game of basketball may look different today than it did in the 1980s, Bird disagrees with any sentiments that the game is less enjoyable or talented.

“You see these old, broken down NBA players talking about their era, how great they were back then and how the players today are not as good as they were. That’s crazy!”

Bird went on to list LeBron James, Klay Thompson, and James Harden as exemplary players he’s watched. He cited Thompson’s 37-points in one quarter of a 2015 NBA game as especially inspiring.

Bird is amazed with what Golden State has done with its long-range shooting, marveling in particular at Klay Thompson’s NBA-record 37 points in the third quarter of a game on Jan. 23, 2015.

“I mean, to me, I just can’t believe that,” Bird said. “I played this game. I’ve been out there and I got hot before, but to score 37 points? I remember I scored 24 in a quarter and I go, ‘Geez, nobody will ever do that again.”

“It’s just amazing to see how these guys are playing the game,” he said. “I couldn’t be more proud of them

Klay once scored 60 points on 11 dribbles..Then sat the entire 4th Q..throw in his top tier D , clutchness , unselfishness and 3 rings?

Come on man..He’s an All time great player..So incredibly underrated..

Klay's most under-rated skill is that he's the most no-fuss star in the NBA.

Yeah but Klay can’t be a number one, blah blah blah.

Possibly the greatest number two of All Time

Do you mean number 2 scoring option or number 2 player?

Because if it is player I'd comfortably have Draymond over him for us.

The thing Klay and Pippin have most in common is both can be the perfect #2 man to any mega star in NBA history..

Bob Myers was on today and was asked about if the players get involved or have opinions on the draft.

Bob said Draymond will give you an opinion whether or want it or not, and that he’s completely dialed into who is who.

Curry will answer if asked and give an opinion, and would like to know their thinking once things are close.

Klay on the other hand couldn’t care less and doesn’t even know who the players are. Basically just says tell me when to show up for workouts. Lol

Effing Klay needs to have a movie done about him. Seriously I need to know what he’s up to at all times.

I'm dying for some Warriors basketball after watching those highlights and seeing the amazing screen setting and ball movement to get Klay looks

still 2 more months to go! :-? :x :nonono:

Go look for Kings announcer reactions to Klay's 37. Always good fun.

I guess every player is a role player. Michael Jordan's role was to lead, score, and defend.

Looks like he’s improved his ball handling.

Return to Golden State Warriors
