This big board one of the more different ones I've seen (at least Manion is a 2nd rounder). It has Hall at #74 and Mane at #79.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/draft/prospect-rankings/

He has better size than Kenyon Martin Jr (PF in a SF body). They have Mane at #61 and Hall at #76.

I'm sold on Mane.

I was trying not to get too attached to him due to the competition but from my youtube expertise ( ) you can't deny the physical profile (6'6 with 7 foot wingspan, great first step and can jump out of the gym) and the skills (very tight handle, nice shooting form and looks to be a really good finisher at the rim).

Is he a legit 6'6? They'll be measuring without shoes from now on, right? So hoping for 6'5 without shoes? If take Mane should try and trade FVV or Powell and not let them walk for nothing.

Could just be him bigging himself up, we'll see.

He's already 20 though and will be 21 in May. I'd like to trade into the middle of the 2nd with #59, 2023 2nd, Stanley and Cash.

Jamal Crawford!!!

Shot making maybe but Jamal's got elite handles and Joe's defense is way better

Trade #59 and 2023 2nd pick to move up to the middle of the 2nd and take Josh Hall.

I wouldn't trade 2023 2nd round pick, as it could be useful for our cap, and you never know who are on the draft.

Meanwhile, we cannot trade VanVleet as he is a FA, and Powell's contract is not any team chasing 2021 FA class would want. I think McCaw and his contract will be the easiest with better value.

We will probably need VanVleet to play the point, and I don't believe our rookie is ready, but some minutes off the bench or injury reserve would be good. As for Powell, he is still a better player than Davis, but if Davis can be a reliable scorer off the bench, then I can imagine the bench lineup with Davis-Watson/McCaw-Mane-Hall-Ibaka to be a decent lineup.

I feel the exact same way. The more I watch him, the more I like him.

Often players with his type of shot making skills are non defenders and most 3&D players don't have his level of shot making. With Isaiah Joe, you get both.

I would be very happy drafting him. He has a high floor for a player in our draft range AND has a high ceiling thanks to his shooting.

Edit: His shooting off of screens will be critical for him to unlock his offensive game at the next level.

Yeah. I think many of us agree with this.

The league is going more and more perimeter oriented and the only bigs that move the needle are the guys who can contribute in a combination of the following...
a) can stretch the floor
b) has mobility, can switch well, and defend on the perimeter
c) has guard like skills (ball handling, passing, playmaking)
d) high level scoring skills

When you take this into consideration, the bigs in our draft range don't look very promising. Even if we draft a big and they learn to hit open 3s, there's still a large uphill battle against them.

Reading through the recent posts in the thread, it looks like Nnaji is the most popular big right now.

I hadn't really watched much of him until today but he looks good. I like what I'm seeing of him far more than bigs like Jalen Smith, Isiah Stewart, Paul Reed, Xavier Tillman.

-size to play center
-athleticism comparable to wings
-jumper looks promising

Checks the key boxes to be a modern center prospect.

We can trade him if he agrees to sign with the new team, though he just can't be packaged.

Sleeper alert. Here is another player that we might consider with our late second rounder. Out of Scarborough, Ontario - Isiaha Mike

Dude looks like he can do it all. Seems like a Paul Watson type of player. Only knock on him is that he's 23. Nonetheless, his numbers are nothing short of amazing and he showed significant growth in each of his college years.

He might have potential to be like Wilson Chandler. He'll likely go undrafted but I wouldn't mind signing him to the 905.

He is just really fluid and mobile shooting in an empty gym here. This kind of fluidity combined with his motor make me think he can become a passable defender. In our program with a coach like Nick... it’ll be demanding but I think this is the type of guy you take a chance on in the 20s

As a fellow Scarborough man I wish him the best. Surprised I've never heard of him.

He recently signed in Europe because I think he has a kid and needs to get paid. It doesn't stop a team from drafting him but at his age he probably stays in Europe. Maybe he takes a long path to the NBA like Paul Watson.

Will be interesting if they choose a shooting guard like i-Joe with Fred, Norm, Davis, Matt all playing the position. I could throw in McCaw as well...but clearly he is afraid to shoot.

I don't think they can play center, at most PF size. Either they have below average PF wingspan (Nnaji, Tillman, Reed), or they lacked the vertical (Tillman, Stewart). I think they are slightly bigger/taller than RHJ, except Stewart who is longer to play at bit of backup C. Need to wait for the combine numbers to confirm.

No, we cannot trade him before the free agency starts, meaning after the draft. Plus, we do not have any control on the team. The new Sign and Trade do not work favour to the previous team like it used to, we basically don't get anything in our wish.

I never meant to trade him before FA began. Just trade FVV once FA starts and Powell before the trade deadline (but if before the season started would get back more).

I just worried that our guards without VanVleet are only capable of scoring, instead of setting up before they start any action. Furthermore, VanVleet and Powell are at another level as compare to our rookies, no way our rookies can be decent in a contending team, unless we are planning to developer, where we should trade Lowry to begin with.

I think without VanVleet, our spacing and set play will not be less effective. And if we are not re-signing Gasol, we have no one to play the point. May just ended up with someone taking a contested 3 point shot and call it a possession. So I doubt we will be looking to compete if our focus is just to develop players (who may not even turning into a star).
