Would anyone be interested in trading #6 and a protected 2021 pick for #1? (similar to the Trea Luka trade)

And if so, who would you draft?

zero interest in that. There's no Luka Doncic in this draft and the 2021 draft is supposed to be loaded, not giving away any FRP in that draft.

I've been going to other team's boards and asking if they would be interesting in trading up into #6 with a pick swap if they throw in a 2020 or 2021 first round pick.

All that i chat with would agree to it.

Knicks, Wizards, Suns, Spurs, Kings' fans are all interested

It all comes down to the protection on the future pick.

Should Hawks look to trade down?

You have to look at not only the protection but for how many years and on how good you think any of those teams will be so the pick actually conveys in 2021 and it's high enough to be worthwhile.
Of that bunch, Spurs would be the team that may make the playoffs. So the pick won't be in the lottery. The Suns had a great 8 game bubble but are they really primed for a playoff spot? Knicks and Kings likely lottery. Wiz is a toss up in the East if Wall is healthy and Beal isn't traded.

Eggsactly. A mid-round pick in '21 will probably be the equivalent of having a top 3 pick in '20. No surprise other teams are keen on the idea of snagging our '21 pick.

Read on Twitter

Indiana Pacers receive: No. 2

Golden State Warriors receive: Myles Turner, No. 6

Atlanta Hawks receive: Andrew Wiggins, 2021 Minnesota Timberwolves first-round pick (top-three-protected)

The Warriors would also send Wiggins to the Atlanta Hawks, who can absorb his monster contract and use another scorer. And the Hawks get a first-round pick in a better draft for taking on the Wiggins contract.

Yo I actually clenched my fist while reading that and didn’t realize it until I unclenched. The actual article gave him two chances to explain why the Hawks would do this. Got whole paragraphs explaining why this works for all the other teams involved but two sentences for the Hawks and both of them show he has no idea what the hell he is talking about and should be ashamed.

We have to be among the most disrespected franchises in the league. These people get paid to write stuff like this and nobody checks them. Unbelievable.

I was thinking, the same! Tell us why this works for the Hawks......still waiting. You know why....we have capspace to absorb it. Smh. So we don't have the draft pick and we blow half our capspace on Wiggins leaving us less space to fill in the roster. SMDH.

What would Hawks fans think about this:

Atlanta trades #6, #50 to Charlotte for #3, #32, and Terry Rozier.

Hawks get their backup PG for the next two years and moves up in the first and second round. It eats into the 2021 cap, but it's still enough to offer a max slot to someone.

Charlotte gets off of the Rozier contract and is able to completely bottom out for a top pick in the 2021 draft while still keeping their young players.

I really don’t like Rozier but it’d be hard to say no for me. Are you sure Charlotte would do this? Do they regret Rozier enough to trade down this much? This feels like a fleece for the Hawks.

I am surprised how it's not awful. Not interested but it's not awful. Just is Rozier is fit what we do and need for his salary. No.

I wouldn't say fleece but it doesn't make sense for Charlotte to me.

What’s the real objection to signing VanVleet from Hawks fans? I never hear it as a possibility. If the only reason is a small backcourt, Toronto’s backcourt was the same size and equally dynamic on both ends of the floor and they were a 2 seed.

It worked for Toronto since Lowry was a bulldog on defense. Trae isn't. I don't think FVV will be as effective defensely playing next to Trae, plus $20+ million dollars.

With Collins and Capela you would have rim protection behind them and offensively let the lobs flow.
