I was wondering that myself Ime Udoka could be looking for a position on a staff.

Alvin Gentry went to Sacramento, would have been an interesting lead assistant for the staff especially since he's not going to get another head coaching job. Wonder what the timeline is on assistants for Donovan.

New assistant coaches on the way, apparently.

Read on Twitter

@KCJHoop: Billy Donovan is calling current Bulls assistants and telling them he’s “starting fresh,” per sources. Widespread changes include at least Roy Rogers, Nate Loenser and Dean Cooper. Ownership continues to give new regime green light to eat $ since most were under contract.
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

Not sure how much assistant coaches make, but this is pretty aligned to what they've been saying: money is no object, and AKMEBD have full authority to mold the organization to how they see fit.

Also interesting that Chris Fleming stays given how badly we looked on offense last year. Maybe there is meat to the rumor that Boylen was so in control that he wasn't letting his assistant coaches do their thing.

Colossal news

Jerry is gone imo. This is all Michael, who’s likely been wanting to do this for years & years. Ol’ Fish Lips is like 90, probably doesn’t know where he is half the time. Imo he has nothing to do with any of this & is just agreeing with whatever Michael does

This is very important news, because if they didn’t have an open cheque book, none of the changes would mean anything. The best teams in the league are the ones that invest heavily into the product, plain & simple

Hopefully that "Open Checkbook" stays open and AK can buy a late 1st rd pick this year !!

This almost feels like when Jeanie Buss retook over the Lakers from her brother. All of a sudden the whole franchise looked good again and won a title.

I think Michael is creating his own legacy.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

I am really happy. Complete new staff where true work is done. To make a new garden to get new crops you need to take out all of it out, good and bad. Remove all weeds, soil the land etc. Do whole process from beggining, from true scratch. That's where this franchise was.

Can't believe it took so long.

Ultimately, this new regime has to build its own identity and work with people they know, trust, and believe in. Sucks that people lost their job, but thats the business.

Bulls definitely had a fairly inexperienced set of assistants outside of Fleming/Rogers:

Nate Loensner - 3 years with team as assistant (previously windy city bulls and video coordinator)
Dean Cooper - 1 year with the team (previous windy city bulls)
Karen Stack Umlauf - 2 years with the team as an assistant (had a different role earlier as director of basketball ops)
Chris Fleming - 1 year with the Bulls, 5 years total as an assistant, previous head coach in Germany
Roy Rogers - 1 year with the Bulls, but 12 years of assistant coaching altogether

Of these, only Roy Rogers / Fleming have any assistant coaching in the NBA (or other solid resume items) outside of their work with the Bulls. Doesn't mean they were all bad, but they certainly were very light on experience overall.

Brian Keefe and Mo Cheeks seem like 2 guys he’d bring along with him.

Are Randy Brown and Pete Myers still with the team?
