A grizzled Sam Hinkie is chopping wood by his cabin in the Palo Alto outskirts... A helicopter lands... Daryl Morey and Joel Embiid step out...

Sam lays down his bartered axe, rusted from a musty September, as his eyes gaze over the redwood moss towards the heli. Daryl and Joel emerge from the sleek Carbon Fiber door, Sam let’s out a cool smile, as if to indicate that they all knew exactly what brought them here, today.

Joel, you son of a b*tch
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Now we can truly find out if that Morey interest last summer was genuine. Hiring Morey as POBO would make me so much more excited about this team’s future.
2023-2024 Philadelphia 76ers:

Lowry/Melton/Payne
Maxey/Hield/Council
Oubre/Batum/Martin
Harris/Covington/Wilson
Embiid/Reed/Bamba

That's for sure. Less of Brand and more of someone who truly knows how to build a team. I don't mind if EB is still around but I don't really trust his decision-making. I like the Doc hire but man, Morey would make me excited.

Morey would be a dream come true. No way he comes without full control and POBO title just like Hinkie had. Brand can stick around as the GM no prob so long as Morey has full control.

Ready to forgive Joshy for all his sins if he gets this done.

Morey should offer to watch a Finals game with him. Worked for the last guy and I imagine most of the ownership group doesn't know the Finals ended last week.

I’ve heard conflicting information on whether he wants another NBA job right now.

They have already reached out to him but haven’t heard any more details

Elton did a terrible job building. this team.

Horford was a bad signing and wasn’t a position of need. He would be a highly valued player as a 5 but that deal killed his value.

Tobias is a awful fit with Simmons and Embiid

Positives are Thybulle and Shake are good complimentary pieces.

Please take Tobias, Horford and Josh Richardson and get some combo of Hield with Cp3 or Hield and wing shooter combo.

This is bull. Start here and fill in.

Embiid
Simmons
Thybulle

Morey is better than most GM's for sure.

It would be good to have him here instead of this clownshow.

Morey and Rivers in the same offseason would be an absolute coup. Would make me feel better about the immediate future.

Daryl would make Elton better while taking Joshy out of Philly's crosshairs. This should be perceived as an absolute dream opportunity by every member of the front office.

We apparently just axed Sergi Olivia (VP of Strategy). Pave the way for Morey!

We have had a ton of front office movement over the past day or so compared to zero before that.

Well, if a Morey hire comes with firing Scott O'Neil, then I would be prepared to forgive the past and move forward in harmony.

Just hiring Morey certainly goes a long way, though.

Maybe I'm getting beside myself, but it really does feel like a Morey hire is coming.

Next step, get Harden <-> Simmons and let Harden and Joel draw 7000 fouls a game.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
