Where will Raptors play next year if border still closed

The Blue Jays had to play in Buffalo for this reason. What location will Raptors play if this is the case in January. Do they go back to UCF and play home games out of that gym?

probably another nba city, share an arena

that was bluejays initial plan until all pittsburg city said no, and baltimore was taking too long,

with enough planning nba/raptors/2nd city could manage schedule. jays was too last minute, so had limited choice.

probably a state that allows public attendance. miami/orlando are probably prime targets.

I hope the federal government doesn't pull the same nonsense that they did with the Jays.

There won't be fans, what is the risk to the general public?

the other teams travelling, raptors travelling. in baseball case, mlb couldnt gurantee the visiting team would quarantine in the hotel next to rogers center.

It would be Masai trolling a certain someone and his uncle.

He wanted to go home. We will meet him there.

Yeah probably Buffalo at the Sabres arena. Though I suspect the Canadian government with arrange something for the NHL which can be applied to the NBA.

But the players have already accepted the risk by agreeing to play. What harm does allowing them to travel in and out of Toronto really cause for the general population?

I would be pretty upset if they played anywhere other than Toronto.

That is a good point. Canadians in general care more about the NHL and it affects way more teams - I can't really imagine them saying all Canadian NHL teams have to find an American city to play in - that's a very different situation from a single exception like the Jays or the Raptors.

Have to expect there's almost no way the Raptors play in Toronto after the Canadian government set the precedent for the Jays in the summer (the pandemic is only going to be much worse in the winter than it was then so they can't exactly go back on that now). They'll likely put them in a place close to their divisional opponents as there will probably be an adjusted schedule this season.

Players from other teams coming into contact with the general population?

In what scenarios do you honestly see that happening? They would likely be wearing masks when they travel and take into account all the measures the GTA is already taking with things like indoor dining being closed.

I think orphaning teams that represent us and play for our entertainment just to decrease the risk of covid spread by a fraction of a percent is a bit alarmist.

If only Seattle Kraken's nhl arena remodeling would be done by the time next season started. I think that could have been a great potential location. Would be great for Seattle to get nba back for one season. Not sure if Vancouverites have been converted to being Raptors fans at this point, but it's close enough to Vancouver that if there are raps fans there, they can drive down. Unfortunately, I think the remodeling is not due to be completed til 2021 summer.

Return to Toronto Raptors
