Duncan and Hollinger were talking about how they thought a Horford/Love deal would make sense. It's been discussed previously, and I still hate the idea. Could maybe see the merit if you also shipped Tobias out for a guard, but just as a solo idea I don't see what it does for us. More expensive, more injury prone, less of a natural position in today's NBA.

Love is a willing shooter. That alone makes him a better fit.

however as you stated that should also mean Tobias has to go too because holy **** that pairing is death lol.

Can we somehow combine a Horford/Love deal with a Tobias/1sts for CP3 deal? That could make some sense.

That's kind of where my head is at.

I mean, it's not Horford is a non-shooter. Love is also a bad fit with the rest of the starters, and is a considerably worse fit as a backup center.

Love is a great fit as a stretch 4 alongside Ben and Joel. Much more mobile than Al and a superior shooter at more volume than our pump fake post up merchant. Also a more crafty player in general and a tenacious rebounder.

Paul/Ben/KLove/Joel is the core of an extremely strong starting 5 (for at least a year or two until Paul or Love or both expire)

I've thought about the Kevin Love idea, but either him or Harris would have to come off the bench. No possibly way that's going to work with both of them starting. Horford straight up for Love? Yeah, i'd do that, but we'd be right back to where we are now with the fit issues. You'd have to trade Harris too and I just don't see us moving both Horford and Harris this offseason. If we were to pull that off, Brand would be mostly redeemed depending on who and what the return was. I'll honestly be shocked if we are able to find any takers for Al Horford. I doubt Harris is going anywhere with Doc as the head coach right now. I think the team wants to see what Harris can do once again under Rivers. He was playing at his highest level under Doc so I honestly think Tobias is currently off the table and probably not even in the mix for a trade. Horford on the other hand should be the guy we are trying to move. It's just not going to be for Kevin Love.

WILLING shooter not non shooter. Al doesn't like to chuck from 3. With Ben and Joel, we need our 4s to do that (Its an issue with Tobias as well) as defenses don't have to rush to defend Al's slow ass release. Yeah we'd still need a backup center but that is a luxary item IMO not something we need to go out of our way to get. Norvell Pelle can do it in a pinch. Draft some big oaf with one of our seconds. You just need a big body who can get in the way in the paint when Joel sits....and not Greg Monroe. Love is not perfect or even great. He's injury prone and was losing a step 2 years ago lol...but his fit is better than Horford for the two guys who matter.

He's a bad fit that probably gets played off the floor against a good playoff team at this stage. Whether he's a better fit with our two best players feels kinda inconsequential when you consider that first sentence.

I understand wanting more quick trigger 3 point shooters on the floor... But why you'd want that to come in the form of a defensive liability PF with injury issues and a massive contract makes no sense to me. Go sign Bryn Forbes if that's all you're looking for, it's not like they need a big man to go with Harris-Simmons-Embiid.

I don't like Kevin Love.

You can't put him anywhere defensively. At least Horford can play the 5.

Also, Kevin Love is not the best teammate to have in the lockerroom. This lockerroom has enough problems.

I really like Hield, but if we get him, we have to find a halfcourt playmaker to pair him with. I still get sick thinking of how we lost to Boston 2 years ago because we couldn't play stellar halfcourt basketball, yet were a much better RS team.

On another note, I'm excited that this offseason will be a pretty rapid turnover. Won't be long before trades will start being made. Does anyone know when free agency will start?

I would take back Russell Westbrook's final 2+1 if Houston's new front office took Tobias Harris off our hands.

Your trade valuations deviate more from the consensus than anything I've ever seen. Ben for Wall. Hield netting a cap dump and 2 1sts. Tobias/Horford netting Beal.

Haha yeah. I just throw out whatever comes to my mind. As you can see, i don’t play favorites.

Im exploring trading Milton now. I think we can see him high after his stellar numbers in the playoffs.

I'd be fine with moving him if someone overvalues him. Though cheap rotation players are certainly a need on the team with their financial situation. He feels more sweetener in a deal than anything.
