I read part of this but I need to ask what the article is based on? what emails? the ones from the post that most news outlets wont cover because there is no proof or meta data supporting the email? Or a screen shot of conversation with no names on it and again no factual proof.

Here is the rub, everyone is entitled to their own believes and those beliefs should be protected. but when reporting you can report your beliefs but you need to be careful to cite facts. Maybe the article written that they would not publish opened them up to some sort of liability or maybe they dont want to publish some articles based on data or evidence that can not be confirmed as true.

That in a nutshell is the issue people believe everything they read on the net and it must be true right? Wrong people have a responsibility before your beliefs is to base everything on the truth. Everything based on the emails from the post can not be proven but meanwhile we have over 25k dead Americans, a huge deficit, a president who wont trust science, A president who has lied to America more then 20 k, A president that paid more in taxes to China then to the country he is the leader of?

Conservative or liberal the above is what should bother you more the unproven emails, then throw in the racial tension he has caused and that is the tipping point for most people. He is not a good president he has not more for minorities then Lincoln he has not done more then other president, there is no secret health plan, he gave a tax break for the rich while middle and lower classes are paying the burden for this country.

That is not right, yes taxes will go up under biden if you make more then 400k a yr then you might pay more in payroll tax but someone needs to pay for trumps horrid deals

Glenn Greenwald is throwing a temper tantrum because he went all in on the wrong side of the Mueller report and instead of admitting that he was wrong he just dug in deeper to the point where he’s trying to report unsubstantiated misinformation without researching it himself. How hard is it to reach out to Rudy and try to substantiate their own reporting. Last I checked the Intercept doesn’t bill itself as tabloid, I have no idea why they’d want to run a Rudy smear campaign. When Medhi Hasan calls you out on your ****, you’ve really lost your way.

Greenwald and Matt Taibi both write as if some certain eastern European superpower has compromising information on them.

And I used to like Taibi, but his writing really sucks horribly for the last 5 years

They most certainly do. Taibi went to the birds. It's a shame. Another talent lost to trolling.

This era has been very effective at liquidating the minds of those who were somehow compromised and not playing with a full deck or those whose porous sense of self made them vulnerable to disinfo repackaged as crappy pseudo-anti-capitalist logic.

Nothing pisses me off more than people passing off enemy campaigns as blows against the empire. I'm not even a particularly patriotic person normally, but I became one when I saw the cost to the body politic of bad reasoning pushed by marshmallow brained radicals.

He's become either in service of a foreign government and/or a self aggrandizing pr*ck, who writes stuff because he's butthurt politics isn't going exactly the way he wants it.

He's suspect.

Besides the Hilary email stuff. It's like he's gone down a rabbit hole since then

I used to think Taibi was so in love with his own take on left wing populism that he embraced anything that vaguely supported it, to include right wing populism.

I think that's part of it. But I think it's darker than that. Greenwald I'd say falls into a similar category, behavior wise. They'd rather everything burn down than consider they might be slightly off base.

Their assurance when writing early on made them really good. Later, it just reduced them to raving egotists.

Well, one, making public Hillary's emails exposed a lot of corruption going on in the DNC and it was true. I have no problem with that. Comey's last minute shenanigans and reopening the investigation right before the election was more despicable and by a lot.

As for the rest of what you wrote, it sounds like you're more butthurt. I can tell you're pissed and don't like him but you'll have to give me more specifics about this "rabbit hole" stuff.

I think Greenwald was the most courageous journalist we had since he was the only one that put his neck on the line for Snowden.

His evidence is everything he's done since. It's public record.

How about "Likes to hang out and talk with Tucker Carlson regularly" agreeing with 3/4's of what he says?

It's possible for Trump to suck and Olberman to suck at the same time.

Haven't liked him since he did sports, nor when he took his schtick to politics, even if I agree with a lot of it.

He's a professional dbag.

I'd heard that's problematic as well. :D

I'll just avoid listening to him.

I don’t know about Taibi but Greenwald lives in Brazil so burning it down doesn’t affect him at all. In fact it’s usually the people who have the least the vulnerable (white, able bodied men, yes I know Greenwald is LGBT but remember Brazil) that always want to burn things down.

If you think it is a slam dunk that Snowden is right then I don't think you've really given it much deeper thought than security state surveillance bad, freedom good. It is a lot more nuanced than that and what Snowden did contributed to Putin's efforts at destabilizing our democracy. Look at where Eddie lives now. Gee, what a coincidence. Nah, he's not a hero. I hate the police state implications of our technologies as much as you do, but I'm not falling for this BS that Snowden was everyman fighting the power. He was a MFing spy and a traitor. If I'm going to support a spy at least I'm not going to back the guy who works for the opposition.
