In AZ....'day of walk up' ballots don't get an envelope on them, they just get immediately put into a box which is quickly tabulated. Early voting walk up get this same treatment so those two varieties are more quickly tabulated, likely every one of these are accounted for in the current total.

The ones that are 'day of dropped off' are mail in ballots that people have gone to a polling place to drop them off. These ballots are like the ones that get put in the mail or early dropped off at polling place both are in envelopes that get signature verified first before tabulating.

Early dropped off mail in ballots likely all have been tabulated already and are accounted for in current totals. The ones that have the most likely to still be outstanding are the election day drop off of mail in ballots that were in the envelope.

This is why these Trump protesters are gathering trying to intimidate the process because they know that the remaining uncounted ballots are not likely the ones they need to get where he needs to.

That does beg the question then: what do they think are the votes that will get him there?

I have no idea what they are thinking, these types are incoherent and irrational in their logic. Initially, there was a sharpie rumor that using this type of pen would bleed through and make them invalid but it's nothing. I have been in and out of this state for decades and been registered to vote here since mid 90s and they have always used a sharpie at polling stations.

This year the ballot did change, though, it use to be an 'arrow' design where the person connects a gap in the arrow to indicate their choices. The new design is a simple oval fill in to indicate the choices so it may have inspired people to create this rumor because these are paranoid people who believe stuff with no evidence whatsoever.

This is why they are chanting 'count our votes'....because they think there's this sharpie invalidation going on. Since Trump is behind they are also hoping this will also get him to win the state with this built in reasoning that if he doesn't win, it's the sharpie-gate. This is also the first election under SOS Katie Hobbs a democrat so the added 'dem cheaters' underpinning it.

The updated reports are the protest originally was 'peaceful' but they are now getting more and more rowdy with them moving press to a safe place. Who knows what sort of social media speculation they are getting themselves worked up about and I wonder if at any point the police will actually behave with them as they do the other protesters they have less common ideology with.

This is going to be interesting to watch play out all over the country with the violent militia types and conspiracy loons within the right wing.

I suppose if they attacked the thugs and suppressed them with force it would be worse so I understand the move, though it still sucks that the mob gets what they want. If they did tear gas them it would have been justified though and I wouldn't have complained.

OMG, I just watched a report on sharpie gate and it in part stems from one woman, yes very Kareny, who early dropped off her ballot and didn't see it accepted right away. She likely did it so shortly before election day that it got lumped in with the huge volume of them at the last minute so didn't get sig checked and tracking update online connected it with the other sharpie part of it then went Qtoony.

Except when the reporter was getting her story they asked if they saw the update and she said oh yea, it did. Then she says she still doesn't trust it because there's no transparency....um, what does she expect? Even mine handed in two weeks ago took, 24-48hrs to update online. Undoubtedly there were many more people in these circles who dropped off mail in ballots late that took about the same time to clear the process and they all got amped up about it with the online mob mentality.

It really seems like it's fabricated with some little bits of reality but spun with alot of imagination.

For some reason, it was a Dem stronghold all the way up until 1964 when it mysteriously became a Republican stronghold. Nobody knows why, much like the other Southern states.
