In all seriousness though: It is madly impressive how well prepared the Republican party was. They knew exactly how and to what extent the mail-in ballots would kick in. Had a plan in place, now they follow through. Look past the antics and you realize: They saw it all coming precisely. They couldn't change that Trump sucks and that their ancient programme sucks. But there are professionals in the background.

Sorry J, I'm out of gas, cannot recreate it
Alas, those who voted for Trump this cycle were completely OK with vote fraud, hence I don't think any of them were reachable anyway. They chose their bed and it isn't democracy
This race wasn't won or lost purely on policy
My point wasn’t built around any policy whatsoever. It was about democratic electoral strategies costing them votes with people of color; losing congressional seats and losing state legislative seats in a year with a historically unpopular president.
The mistakes I singled out were:
- Failures in outreach to people of color, specifying Latino voters since I watched that closely (also rachel bitcofer co-signed Chuck Rocha on this missed opportunity both before and after the election results started pouring in).
- No ground work, literally. Democrats across the spectrum of policy views were telling the Biden campaign that they needed to put canvassers out in battleground states.
- Refusing to pick a stance on key issues. Key here is I don’t think it much matters which direction he’d have gone on the policy; but by being unclear he allowed bad faith actors to fill in the blank and convince some voters not to break his way.
The idea that no voters for Trump were reachable is patently ridiculous to me, at least from the perspective of a person from a Spanish community that knows some trump voters. Chuck Rocha had a good interview with zerlina maxwell where he explained trump’s success in FL.
“Well we beat trump” isn’t enough when the Supreme Court is stacked and Mitch McConnell has a strong chance to continue deciding what legislation gets voted on. It’s not stopping the state legislatures that moved further right. None of that is policy based; it’s just a continuation of failures that we’ve seen at least throughout my lifetime. Way too many Dems only care about holding the executive branch and it shows throughout the judicial and legislative branch being dominated by conservatives.

here is the thing and maybe I am naive the laws clearly state these votes are valid. The Supreme court would rule in favor of counting the votes not throwing out the votes. That would be dis-enfranchising the voters that voted by mail legally. before trump these poepl upheld the law personal views aside. The laws clearly on the side of counting the votes

dakomish23 wrote:You’re seeing a push by QAnonsense shills that PA should have had the vote count earlier. I assume it’s part of a strategy if they stop the count, they can deflect to blame the governor / sec of state.
Gov. Wolf & Dems tried to change the law to allow counties to begin processing ballots sooner, but the Rep-led legislature had refused & would only change the law if Democrats agreed to ban ballot drop boxes and support other measures that Wolf has opposed.

I'm right there with ya, not trusting this timeline to be anything other than absolute chaos...
