... bringing Isaac back too soon only to lose him to an ACL tear for all of next season will do that. *smh*

I just hope we can rebuild properly this time. I don’t want to use any particular buzzwords for rebuilding to set people off (we know what those are). At this stage we have trades, future drafts and developing talent (Fultz & Isaac) to work with. All options are available. JUST DO SOMETHING!!! WeHam!

In the past I would argue with MagicMatic is specific direction. Now, I’m game for anything. Just do something!

I dont know. I just dont view him as the savior of the franchise. great defensively, sub par offense and cant stay healthy. it sucks to see him get hurt, but that isnt what makes me lose hope for the team. this front office is losing me quickly

I didn’t mean it that way. Isaac wasn’t viewed as a franchise saving talent.

I meant the decision to bring him back early during a half-assed bubble playoff where we had absolutely nothing at all to win ... only to lose him for another season ... showed the complete short sightedness of our leadership and caused me to lose faith.

Maybe we’ve just gotten used to each other’s perspectives to a point that it’s not worth arguing incessantly anymore.

Before Pepe gets mad at me and unfriends me on facebook: I am the clown in said picture.

To your point: I think we all may disagree on what the Magic should being doing but we all love the team so that takes precedent.

I'd have to see how this works. My first question when I heard that it may be a mainstay is how it impacts the lottery. It would suck to finish 7th or 8th, not make the playoffs, yet still not be eligible for the lottery.

I think knowing that the top-10 teams in the conference would have a shot at getting in would only serve to encourage them. I think the only way they turn their attention to the future is for their current method to fall woefully short. For instance, if Atlanta leapfrogs us and we are chasing the playoffs by the deadline, then maybe they are forced to quit pretending as though what they are doing is in any way effective.

The new cap should be coming soon. Okeke said he was still waiting when he was live on IG a couple weeks ago.

This team is full of players you put around perennial all stars so i dont expect any of them to be saviors. Just group of good players missing that elite talent. Its really not fair to any of them, they've done all they can to carry this team.

Yeah, I see WeHam seeing the gates to the playoffs now have a backdoor for teams with lower records, and so even if they know they'll be a lottery team, they'd rather be a competitive one. So they'll be chasing that play-in spot for sure.

And given how tough things are financially, I think most teams chase it until, as you said, their teams show they can't even pretend. But for us, WeHam know the team rallies later in the season, so I think we'd need to be in really hopeless form for them to put the young guys in and pick up a few more L's.

He was waiting for the nba to set the cap and figure out the rookie scale contracts, so he could sign.

He also said he thought he could break out this year. He doesn't know for sure how he's doing because he doesn't know anyone to play against. I almost volunteered to shoot hoops with him, but I'd probably pull something.

Kira Lewis Jr. is widely expected to be selected in the first round of 2020 NBA draft. Known for his blazing speed, Lewis averaged 18.5 points, 5.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 36.6 from 3-point range as a sophomore at Alabama, before electing to turn pro. Teams that have visited Lewis for in-person workouts include Detroit, Chicago, New York, Phoenix, Orlando and Minnesota. Many mock drafts have him going in the No. 10-20 range. 13 hours ago – via Mike Mazzeo @ Forbes.com

The leaguewide interest level in Aaron Gordon is murkier. Brooklyn discussed chasing him in prior years, but that is probably moot now. He makes sense in Portland, though NBA Twitter’s beloved Gordon-for-CJ McCollum swap has never been discussed in any serious way, sources say. 5 days ago – via Zach Lowe @ ESPN

Austin Rivers is expected to opt out of his contract.

We desperately need a back up PG and 2 guard. Could we offer him our MLE? Sounds like a win win

I would much rather resigned Dj, MCW or drafted pg at #45.

I don't think you can find funcional rotation player that late in draft ,especially in rookie year.
Also pairing Bamba with unexperienced PG already poved to be disaster year ago. Now you would pair rookie PG, Bamba and Okeke ? That's a reach. Backup PG has to be either groomed to be starter or very good veteran IMO.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Orlando player development coach Rick Higgins is joining Stephen Silas as an assistant with the Houston Rockets, sources tell ESPN. Higgins joins former head coaches John Lucas and Jeff Hornacek on the new staff. Higgins is the son of ex-NBA player and GM Rod Higgins. 14 hours ago – via Twitter wojespn

btw Clifford is close family friend with Silas.

If Phoenix are making the push on the playoffs and going in on CP3 as the rumours suggest, I wonder if Phoenix would use Cam + #10 on Gordon to round out their starting 5? Former Arizona guy, too.

Assuming you mean Johnson and not Payne, this is an interesting deal for Orlando. Orlando gets a more classic SF and will be able to draft Vassell or Nesmith. Further it frees up #15 for a trade for a future asset.

Impossible trade from salary perspective

Cam makes $4M , Gordon $18M.

if they pull trigger on Paul trade, witch i would assume would happen before, they would give up Rubio, Oubre, Bridges, kaminsky( just to come close to Paul salary) and absorb rest of Paul's salary over that, and be over cap.

This is even assuming they won't resign Saric, who is RFA , but it's in their best interest that they do, because after CP3 trade they will have no cap flexibility whatsoever.

More of a 3rd string pg. There is a chance one of Dotson, Riller, Flynn will fall to #45. If we resign Dj for 1 year that should be enough to teach them nba reserve job. I predict Okeke will start sooner than later.
