CP3 is 35 years old. This is like a Steve Nash trade.

Nash to the Lakers that is. CP3 is better than Nash was at that moment, but he is due for a quick downturn. He might have one good year in him, but even that is not likely. He is a career ending injury waiting to happen at his age.

This Suns team has some decent chemistry going. 8-0 in the bubble was not a fluke. The tendency of NBA Gm's to pee away a good thing just because they can make a deal is mind-boggling.

Rubio is going to be better next year than he was this year. He is the perfect player for this squad. CP3 is not worth the risk.

Nash was 38.

But was Nash's injury history at all comparable to that of Paul's ( missing an average of over 20+ games per season) at the same age of 35? Or even at 38? I mean when considering exactly how intense and brutal this upcoming seasons schedule is set to be, How many back to backs and numerous game stretches without breaks in them there'll be. If we're being realistic, Is Paul more likely at this age to sustain or improve his durability with a likely increased workload and increased number of games he'll have to play HEAVY minutes in for us to be successful.

Especially when you consider all of the depth we'll be forced to surrender in order to be able to take on his contractual commitment. Again, depth and financial flexibility will be a critical factor to our success in this current situation.

I don't understand the obsession with CP3's injuries and health.

1.He has been fully healthy for a full season. Yeah, with a break in the middle of the season and whatever but that break didn't save from getting injured to a lot of players in the league. He takes care of himself.

2.He has never had a big injury in his career. Rubio and Oubre have already had bigger injuries than Paul on their shorter careers, so that can not be a concern. You just can go and see it for yourself, not even one big injury.

3. Obviously he will slow down with the past of the years, but he hasn't for NOW. Some players get worse way before others and some are really good way longer. There is no rule. Watching how he played in the playoffs just a couple months ago you would say that he is gonna be GREAT next season and that's the most important thing for now.
