We will definitely wait to finalize the trade until after free agency. We didn't trade our draft pick so really there is no rush to make it official just yet...
*mods feel free to change the poll, I already screenshotted the last one.*
This statement seems more rooted in your desires than it does in fact. While i agree with your desire, that doesn't necessarily make it lol
I feel ya, but I'm fairly confident we are waiting.

Apparently he was the worst player in the G-League last season... But he's very young and athletic.

Damn, the 2022 draft is the WORST draft to send a pick, given it looks to be the draft with two draft classes (high schoolers and college freshmen can join). There is nothing in the trade regarding protection. This just BETTER be out of the lottery. I imagine it should be if since we keep this year's pick and next year's and Cam, as long as everyone stays healthy. Glad we got to unload Jerome and Lecque. Don't know much about the other guy we are getting back.

That's enough for Presti to give him the max

But was Nash's injury history at all comparable to that of Paul's ( missing an average of over 20+ games per season) at the same age of 35? Or even at 38? I mean when considering exactly how intense and brutal this upcoming seasons schedule is set to be, How many back to backs and numerous game stretches without breaks in them there'll be. If we're being realistic, Is Paul more likely at this age to sustain or improve his durability with a likely increased workload and increased number of games he'll have to play HEAVY minutes in for us to be successful.
Especially when you consider all of the depth we'll be forced to surrender in order to be able to take on his contractual commitment. Again, depth and financial flexibility will be a critical factor to our success in this current situation.
I don't understand the obsession with CP3's injuries and health.
1.He has been fully healthy for a full season. Yeah, with a break in the middle of the season and whatever but that break didn't save from getting injured to a lot of players in the league. He takes care of himself.
2.He has never had a big injury in his career. Rubio and Oubre have already had bigger injuries than Paul on their shorter careers, so that can not be a concern. You just can go and see it for yourself, not even one big injury.
3. Obviously he will slow down with the past of the years, but he hasn't for NOW. Some players get worse way before others and some are really good way longer. There is no rule. Watching how he played in the playoffs just a couple months ago you would say that he is gonna be GREAT next season and that's the most important thing for now.
The obsession is obviously tethered to the restrictive implications of his contract to our cap flexibility in the event of injury, we'll be hamstrung, with over half of our cap in a player that again IF INJURED can't even contribute on the court for us. I don't know about you, But I just can't feel good about committing over half of our entire cap space to an injured player in that scenario. Also the concern is due go the pattern of chronic injuries. Depending upon the level of assets going out in the trade, it's a reasonable risk. But not at the point of risking such a level of value, That is risks both our short term AND long term future viability in an event of injury.
A trade for Paul is absolutely solid, as long as the legitimate value is reasonable and doesn't make us worse by addition through subtraction in terms of an imbalance ( overpaying of assets in association with assumed risk)! of assets going out. And yes, I do get the argument that recently he was healthy for this last season, But again, That's only what, one season in the last 4? And also in a drastically shortened season. This upcoming season, He'll be needed/ expected to obviously play significantly more minutes and over an increased duration, As this season's schedule is highly condensed, And offers little any rest or time for recuperation, So when figuring these factors into the equation, Would you say this is a benefit to someone his age, And with his history of chronic nagging injuries or more of a hindrance? Lastly, I've already seen it for myself man.

Well hopefully they don't eliminate the age limit for 22 and it delays to 23.
Those draft picks in the coming years will be important since we will likely have 3-4 big contracts going forward and will need as many cost controlled draft picks as possible, and it's a lot easier to find solid players on the cheap in the draft than in the bloated FA market.

We have 17 mill to spend? LOL. Go grab Grant, he's a perfect 4 for today's game. Use that pick to Killian to learn from CP3 for the next 2 years and take over as a 21 year old. This trade just keeps getting better (if Paul stays healthy).

So we are grabbing Gallinari here right? That means Saric is gone?

This is a great move. If you need a 4 to fill out the roster Grant is who you want. Question is if 17m is what will get him because he made himself some money on the Nuggs.

Well done James Jones. I was worried he would buckle, but that's about as good as he could have done in the circumstances.
Top 12 protection on the pick is good. We have our pick this year and the next to load up on more talent as needed. Should be fine in 2022.
Now let's just pray that Paul remains healthy.

i like the trade. Oubre is expiring and CP is an upgrade over Rubio. The pick is relatively well protected until 2025. If the Suns are still bad in 2025, they have bigger problems than this trade.

My hope here is... we sign Gallinari for some moneys. Trade a couple of 2nd round picks to the Rockets for PJ Tucker.

Minor point but I would assume the suns are keeping Nader. Otherwise no reason for him to be in this deal because it wasn't needed for matching purposes.
