Market for Jrue must have been WAY softer than reported, as I thought. Bucks really didn't give up much apparently.

Let's be clear. We definitely could have beaten that offer for Jrue Holiday if we really wanted him.

Bledsoe is a better regular season player than Jrue :dontknow:

Bucks better hope Jrue pays off in the playoffs.

That said, I was primed to believe that a deal for Jrue would be way bigger than that.

I think a lot of the rumors out there gave the fans false hope. Morey is excellent, but he's not Houdini. Other than Simmons and Embiid I really don't see a lot of attractive pieces on the roster that other teams would really covet. My problem for your problem swaps maybe.

I can't tell you how many fantasy trades I've seen on social media where fans have the hope that Morey can come right in and get rid of Harris and Horford like it's nothing.

I think barring a Harden trade involving Simmons, this offseason will be a lot less active than people wanted. The Sixers put themselves in an absolutely horrendous spot. Not even Morey will be able to come right in and fix it in one offseason. He'll fix it over time, but he's going to need time. This mess is too great to clean that quickly even for him.

**** we lost out on Cov and Holiday. We must be going for Harden. Morey would never have let that happen if there wasn't a bigger prize on the horizon.

The timing of all this is interesting.

Jrue is a Sixers target. Covington you have to imagine is part of a bigger Houston plan. And also was probably a Sixers target.

Now, you have them both moved within minutes.

Meaning, a team involved in talks with each of those teams may have made a decision to go in on a bigger offer, or to tell NOP they are out on Jrue, and so NOP took the Bucks offer.

Have to imagine NOP would've rather had Richardson, Scott, Zhaire and picks from the Sixers than what they got.

So Sixers might have told them to move on, and at the same time offered something more significant to Houston prompting the Covington trade???

Bledsoe was first team all-defense I believe and a good complementary offensive piece. Jrue is an upgrade, but Bledsoe is a good building block to build a deal on.

You would have traded 21 and next year's first for Covington? Keep in mind, we'd have to beat their offer. That's sacrificing a lot of assets for a player that won't make a difference.

Salary matching for Jrue only would have worked if they wanted Horford or Harris. The Pels would not be the first team to overvalue Bledsoe. Our lack of mid range, movable salaries is a tough barrier, but there is always some sucker out there.

Plucked due to desperation. Of course Morey could do a deal like this, but lol.

Pels have a bright future damn.

Meanwhile, Bucks fueling up for fued with Nets.

Sixers still trying to figure out if their 2 best players fit together and somehow off load 2 of the worst contracts in the league. Lol

Jrue is not the piece the Bucks needed but they didn't really have many options. I think Giannis is gone after the season.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
