Kinda reminds me of when SoA was good.

I remember the days when I had 7-10 DVRed shows a week to watch, the golden age..
GoT, Banshee, Black Sails, Spartacus, Kingdom, Penny Dreadful, AMerican Horror Story, Boardwalk Empire, Walking Dead, Friday Night Lights, SoA, Copper, Justified, Hell on Wheels.....
Lately the only show I get into is Warrior..... and might get to it that week, nothing to look forward too anymore, Last Empire and Witcher were the last shows I had to Binge lately...maybe Into the Badlands, Kinghtfall, Frontier and Taboo, but they aren’t the same level...

So Ted Lasso is pretty much Ned Flanders right?

I thought it was fine. Still entertaining but definitely one of the lesser episodes so far. I’m a bit of a sucker for big bad spider scenes (LoTR, Harry Potter, etc).

Not sure if this is your compliant, but I’ve seen a lot of people mention it being “filler”. I just think that is what the show is... a random adventure of the week that loosely drives plot forward. And I’m good with that. Well made and entertaining.

Just got around to watching The Invisible Man, one of the better thrillers of 2020 imo. Pretty fresh take on the story and Elisabeth Moss was great as expected

It had too much plot conveniences for starters and it felt like it was played kinda for laughs and not in a fun way like Taika Waititii episode.

This is something that I noticed right away during the first season and something I really appreciate. The age of binging has lead to a lot of shows that are just like 13 hours of straight plot. Sometimes this works, and sometimes it turns into a slog like the Netflix Marvel shows. It kind of reminds me, in a good way, of a syndicated show from the 90s (with much more polish).

Maybe if there were 20 episodes per season, but we only get 8. Random adventures of the week where the stakes could not be lower and everything wraps up nicely at the end is a poor choice in my opinion. It’s like watching a regular season game against the Hornets in January. Yeah something cool might happen but it’s hard to get excited for it when you know nothing really matters.

Calibre (Netflix) is a tense, lean thriller. Highly recommended.

I finally got around to finishing the last season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I liked the majority of the season (especially the 80s gore horror theme episode) but wasn't satisfied with the series finale.

Ted Lasso (somehow) lived up to the hype. Just delightful.

Hulu is high if they think I’m going keep paying them for these live tv price increases. Ready to tape the cord back up at this point.
