PA is in a good situation in Miami. One thing about the Miami culture, they do devote their time to the development of their players. Achiuwa will be useful defensively and somewhat offensively for the Heat.

RJ, Terry, Nwora, Bane, Woodard, and Flynn I expect to be gone by our pick but are guys I wouldn't mind. Mason Jones and Xavier Tillman are interesting to me as well though I'm not upset if we go in a different direction from these two. Jones has that DB confidence and Tillman would be someone we'd groom to be the backup C of the future who is maybe a situational starter depending on how JJJ develops.

I don't like Tillman because I don't think he fits in the current NBA game. He isn't much of a stretch and is more of a physical big role player. He can develop as a shooter, but I think there are better options.

I like Precious as an energy guy at the next level. I think he is going to be a solid impact role player.

I said it to one of the guys, think it was Whole Truth, that this year's class isn't where it is at (when our FO was supposedly trading into this draft). You can get some more ready talent in the back end of the draft, but I'm not impressed by the first round this year.

I don't think it makes sense to trade into this draft unless we get RJ Hampton or Bey. Hampton is criminally underrated in my mind.

RJ scares me a bit but I don't trust my evaluation at all since it is biased and mostly based on him not playing well during the preseason scrimmage last year. Still he'd be a solid get and I like Bey. I still wouldn't use a 1st though simply because I don't think we have any 1sts that are truly late anytime soon. I think our picks will be lottery or not too far outside of it the next couple years. The Utah pick could be very late lottery or just outside of it. The GSW pick could end up quite good.

At his age, the jump up in level means that it takes time to adjust for everyone, with the exception of KG and Lebron. Even Kobe improved dramatically from his first season in the league. As a rule of thumb, you can't rely on overseas production to evaluate 19 year olds. Look at what happened with Brandon Jennings who sat on the bench in Europe, only to thrive in the NBA. The game is also different and RJ Hampton has the speed and burst to thrive in the NBA.

While it is difficult to evaluate guys from high school on an apples to apples basis, I feel like there should be something similar to breakout age (used in the NFL) for the NBA.

I think Denver got a steal getting RJ at this point in the draft. Add him to MPJ as future superstar assets. Maybe they throw their hat into the Harden ring at some point this season?

There's a reason Denver drafted Murray, took a shot on MP and Bol Bol, and traded for Jerami Grant. They have a keen eye for talent.

To be fair, like most 19 year olds, RJ could completely bust if he does not put the work in. But, he is going to an organization that will develop his talents. I'm highly bullish on his chances. Plus, the chip on his shoulder after tonight.

I will say that he has been busting his butt to try and get better pre-draft. He drove between Memphis and Texas every week to get time with Mike Miller. I think he can figure it out enough to at least stick around for a bit which isn't bad in the 20s even if he doesn't blow up into a starter.
