AK realizes these are the guys that got GarPax fired, right?

i get the impulse to shake things up quickly because we are very familiar with the players on this team, but

1) the league year started like two days ago
2) even if we don't make any big moves this month, i don't think it's unreasonable for a new gm to say "we don't feel like it'd be the best approach to move on from most of this roster until we see the players under a coach who is not jim boylen or fred hoiberg"

i would be kind of disappointed if we don't even see any action on the thad/sato types in the next few weeks, but i don't think it's actually fair to be critical of a lack of aggressiveness until the deadline and next offseason

It would be incredibly disappointing if #2 comes to be.

People don't seem to realize how **** the situation is that GarPax left behind. We need to actively change that and not passively sit back.

We have zero extra picks in our warchest while other rebuilding teams have tons of extra picks in upcoming drafts.

We have nothing other than the MLE to make Free Agency moves.

We need to make cuts and trades. Otherwise the roster is going to look depressingly familiar.

KC is already running with the "our roster is full" narrative

It is full and we have no cap space. We could use the MLE if there is a good long term value.

I'll be disappointed if this season starts and thad, sato, and felicio are still on this team.

There is seemingly going to be several UDFA PGs that are flatly more interesting than Arci. We should cut him and replace him.

do you really think the trade value of people on the roster is going to appreciably decrease if we don't make a move soon?

i feel like zach and lauri are the only obvious "sell high" candidates on the roster. i think you should probably hold out for a good deal for zach since he's the most valuable player on our team, and i think lauri's trade value might be so low that it doesn't really matter either way when we move him

Really like DAL's draft with Green and Terry and Bey.

Like what Morey did for the Sixers too with trading for Curry and getting Maxey.

Like TWolves with Edwards, Bolmaro, and Poku.

Ty-Shon Alexander and Nate Hinton are two uniquely gifted defenders at the guard position, either one would be a great pickup for the bench especially if Valentine is going to be in the rotation along with Lavine and Markkanen. Losing Dunn is going to hurt the team's defense, especially with guards like Wall coming back or Harden possibly traded to the east.

I think Lauri's value was depressed the most under Boylen. I would be surprised if he wasn't putting up clost to 20ppg with a real coach and offense and not having to get offense rebounds. Lauri's value will sky rocket. I would try to get him under a cheaper extenstion otherwise he's going to be overpriced.

AK said that they didn't seriously consider trading up.

He mentioned Patrick Williams ball handling ability and pointed out that Williams played PG in high school. AK added that Williams can play 1-5 and mentioned his versatility many times.

Also, he said our 2nd round pick will be stashed for at least a year.

One more thing: He said that "our roster spots are limited". It doesn't sound like they'll do much in free agency.

It has been an uneventful draft but I always thought if moves where to be made, it will likely happen near the deadline where the FO has more grasp of the players we have and when the players have hopefully rebuilt their stocks under Donovan.

I hope they were on the phone with Dotson's agent immediately after the last pick.

Can't believe Paul Reed almost went undrafted too.

Dotson is a talented guy. Bringing him in after the draft seems like a good gamble.

Not the biggest guy. Mediocre shooter. Not the best creator. Can be turnover prone, and not really the best decisions. He's where he should be. Undrafted trying to make a team, and will probably end up doing some G-League time.
