Are the Raps gonna have the full MLE still left to use if we re-sign both FVV and Ibaka?

We obviously need some big man depth. Harrell? WCS?

Yes because they weren't a tax payer or repeater tax payer.

Giles
Baynes
Len
Favors
Noel

Mike Muscala for the vet min? I can't see him accepting his player option for the min to stay in OKC for the rebuild.

This offseason is all about the big men, so makes sense the Raptors are shoring up their guards during the draft. Raptors are thinking about life after Lowry and Powell (and probably TD too), so Flynn and Jalen makes sense. Now its time to pick up some bigs. Giles, TT, Woods, Baynes, Noel, Okafor, Favors, Len, Plumlee etc.

I think we should try to use the MLE to sign up Giles.

I agree - he should be our primary free agent target. Looking at the roster, Giles would be a nice piece in the frontcourt.

I guess Wolves's Jarret Culver and Malik Beasley are up for grabs now that they've Edwards

County challenging parental rights of Timberwolves' Malik Beasley, wife. Filing says player pointed gun in "general direction" of his 19-month-old son.

I don't think Raptors would want him but some other teams might wanna risk it.
Report: Timberwolves appear to be open to trading Jarrett Culver

Young prospect that has potential if he can develop confidence especially in his shooting. He was already good defensively as a rookie.

Also... Minny could use Anthony Edwards somehow to get Devin Booker

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

Giles can fill that stretch playmaker role that Gasol had. He fits the Nurse offence like a glove. I bet he develops a 3. His stroke is smooth and he shot well from the line last year.

Giles is someone who is a must get with his passing ability and potential. give him that 4 year.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.

What about Aaron Baynes as a target with MLE?

looks like he is headed to NOP; plus i am not high on him, older than you think (34 years old), and pretty injury prone.

Fair enough. I think the Raps can use some more vet/tough presence though considering we'll be a top 4 team in the East again

Also his A/T is around 2.

If needed I would give him $4 million per year (portion of the MLE to be Siakam's backup. I think he could play small ball C better than Boucher.

Give Aron Baynes 1 year $6 million. He's turning 34 in 3 weeks so he should take that and run.

Both have shown they can shoot the 3.

We should try using the MLE to toss him the Norm deal. 4y/42M. Last year being a player option.

Knicks just declined Bobby Portis option.

Any interest in him? He's still only 25. Has solid range. Can be a solid Bench piece

I know some people on here wanted him the year we drafted Delon, is there any current interest in Portis?

Newsday has learned Knicks are waiving Elfrid Payton and Kenny Wooten and not picking up option on Bobby Portis. Also, no qualifying offer for Damyean Dotson, who is an unrestricted FA now. More decisions to come...
